Ha! Just went to dealer today for oil change, coolant low warning. Asked for alignment but they won't touch any suspension that isn't stock.

How are you getting the spring out on the front with AWD cars. On the RWD, I just undo the shock from the top hat, leaving the top hat attached to the car, then lean the strut forward and remove the spring. On the AWD I can't get the strut/knuckle low enough to clear the strut tower. I tried removing the axle bolt for extra room and still no luck.
Looked at TIS and they're saying to remove the entire knuckle, so upper/lower control arms, tie rods, brakes, rotors, sensors etc and pull the knuckle and shock out together. Seems crazy

I added Ben but he hasnt seen it yet but from what I remember, he just removed the damper in the front and none of the other bs that the TIS said. Normally on a RWD one can swing the damper around but not on the AWD axle so he pulled...

Adding him again to see if his lazy ass will read

I don't remember exactly how, but I know for sure that I remove the tie-rod.
The next sequence it what I don't remember exactly.
It is either swing the whole shock assembly out with the hub-carrier or remove the shock from the hub carrier while top mount still attached.

But, one of those 2.

I wonder why other shops that has done many lowering spring didn't chime in.

Thanks might try that next time. I guess you could always go the ghetto VW 2x4 method, lol. Not sure if your familiar with that one, but very common on VW's. You rest a 2x4 under the spring perch and use a jack to push on the 2x4, thus compressing the strut and pulling it out of the knuckle(which you've used a strut spreader on)

Right and wrong

15x4 is correct and rubbing too but that was on my Portimao G80 with Pirellis and this car with the PS4 does NOT rub at all.

2. see the links as to why we went to MSS (no AST or H&R at the time plus the spring composition)

https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1841525

https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1836463

3. you can create a taut but not harsh ride by dropping like I did with 35mm front and 25mm rear and use Sport EDC.

MSS is a linear spring with high spring rates so its going to be stiffer under load and speed but also more forgiving when cruising. Its really quite hard to discern the difference between OEM and MSS when Im on reasonable roads. When I was on OEM I used Comfort EDC and with MSS I use Sport as the springs are more dialed to a tighter valved system.
I am about to get my M3 xdrive and I still I have a few questions regarding to the MSS lowering spring. MSS claims the lowest they can go with the front is 30mm and you said you lowered it by 35mm. Your car's front seems clearly lower (looks sooo good) than MSS's own car. Is there a trick to lower it even more than MSS's claimed 30mm or if you put the front to the lowest setting it's actually 35mm rather than the official claimed 30mm?

On the G82, 12mm in the front is too aggressive. I had to switch to 10mm.
