Your lucky my dealer doesn’t allow me to use that. If you read the fine print it’s for in stock vehicles at the dealer so they wouldn’t use it for me on a custom order

Oh sh** I do see only valid on delivery of in stock vehicles - my dealer did not say that but I’m thinking that will be a deal breaker Last edited by Bch53211; 05-30-2021 at 09:05 PM.. |

It is a temporary restriction until later on in the year. You're not missing much as it just heats up the phone and does a very slow charge

I notice that option 3DE Extended Shadowline Trim Deletion shows correctly in the Order Guide, but has been erroneously named BMW iPerformance Design Elements Deletion in the Pricing Guide.
The name isn't friendly since it's more of a substitution that a deletion - it changes the Competition model's standard black exhaust tips to polished silver and standard black mirror covers / lip spoiler from black to body color which makes it look like the base model. But the misprint makes it even more confusing. |

G83 is included! Thanks for the post.
It says the G83 SOP is July also, but I'm assuming that's not correct as they just announced September for the U.S. The only disappointment for me is that I have to get the driving assistance package just to get blind spot monitoring. If I weren't getting a convertible, I'd skip it. With the top on, there is a bigger blind spot, so I think blind spot detection is a must have.

For us here in California is 8 weeks from SOP. My 2020 m340 SOP was first week in July 2019 and I got it end of August. Takes about 2 weeks on board ship from Germany to SoCal port.

Would appreciate some insight: Are allocations based on size of dealership? My dealer awaiting (any day from what I read above) allocations . Also, are allocations separated by M3 or M4? Once allocation is assigned and dealer sends in - are dates for production assigned with production number? Thanks

As to your other question, allocations are model specific. Allocations are set for M3 base, M3C, M4 base, M4C, awd, etc. You cannot interchange them. Dealers can swap with other dealers, but they have to find a trade partner. Lastly, once you get an allocation, you'll get a production number. You won't get a production number or build week until you have an allocation. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Thanks a lot - could it be your wait from 3/26 is because the allocations for 2021's were all taken? Any allocations onward are obviously for 2022's - so you should be "first" from your dealer (if I'm right - but you know more than I do)

I've been first for a MY21 allocation since then and I'm now first for a MY22. I didn't really care about the year, but it looks like I'll be getting a '22. Still no idea when that will be, when allocations will come for MY22, or when I'll ultimately get my car.

I'm rather annoyed by them removing the wireless charger

Tbh, it is so useless as to be pointless. The phone just overheats and stops working. I've had ones that work pretty well, this one is not at all worth it. If you're not using anything else it is a trickle charge (at best), if you're using anything else the phone gets super hot almost immediately.

From what I have read it is not needed for the digital keys to work (applies to both key card and iPhone). I have based this on some posts I read on the G20 forums where owners have retrofitted wireless charging to their non-wireless charging vehicles. And prior to the retrofit they already had the keycard and iPhone digital key functionality. It uses NFC which does not require the wireless charger to function. https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=101 If you look at above post, it implies that the digital key function was there and functional before the retrofit of wireless charging. Furthermore the digital key is listed as a feature in the Comfort Access option on the BMW UK configurator so is not dependant on the wireless charging option. EDIT: l I think a lot of confusion is coming from the fact that the NFC module is installed near the front tray alongside the wireless charger. Those with base/manual models don't have it due to the transmission which prevented BMW from installing anything underneath the front tray (this is why their wireless charger is in the arm rest, but no NFC module in their case)
