My coolant temp is always very low, few time went up to 210 degrees and right back down .
I just did 30 minutes freeway drive 65-75mph and temp is always alittle bit above 150f what are you guys experiencing?🤷🏻‍♂️

I have had 2 G82's now, and use them as both daily drivers and frequent track cars. Regardless of use, mode or OAT the normal operating temp is always 220 degrees. I would say that something is wrong with your car.

What have you heard ? Is this an issue with just the G82 or is it a rare S58 issue

2023 owner here. Was monitoring this today on my drive. Was about 92 degrees outside. In traffic or stopped my coolant/water temp was around 220-230. Once I started moving it would go down. Never to 150 but 210 or slightly under.

I have 2023 F97 and my coolant temperature goes up to around 210 then goes back down like OP is staying on his G80. When I put on shops scan tool and monitor live data temp is stable at 172 Fahrenheit. I also have appointment with dealer because in the winter when I bought the vehicle it was stable around 210 and never came down.

Was just about to post on the forums about this same concern as I’ve recently notified very low coolant temps. I’m located in south Texas and we’ve been in the 112 temperature range with the heat wave….yet my car always shows very low coolant temp.

Mine is a 2023 m4 comp, 6k miles.

I do notice that the coolant temp rises more when I use car in the morning and it’s about 85 F outside.

However, in the afternoons the coolant temp always stays very low …..this is today after 40min of spirited driving :

Hey Legend,

I'm in Tucson and monitored my temp today. Cold start driving at 90F temp went to 220ish and then regulated between 180 and 210ish. Then the outside temps got hot, running at 110F the G80 turned on the cooling fans and the coolant temp dropped to almost exactly what you pictured in your first post. I think its normal, especially in the hot environment were driving in.

I would have questioned the dealer which I will do about colder temps. I bought my F97 in February and all of the way through the winter and part of spring the temperature stayed solid at 210 with no fluctuation. Once we started seeing 3 digit temps it began to fluctuate like the OP. I will report back after car is finished being looked at on Saturday.

Vegas owner here. Drove to work and temps were normal, around 210-220. Driving home from work outside temperature was showing 101 and I didn’t get above 150.

It seems to be something with how hot it is outside. I've done a fresh start after it's been sitting overnight in the daytime, ambient +100F. Car's coolant and oil temp warms up close to the middle and then I can see coolant temp back off to ~180F and oil temps stops rising at ~180F (since usually hot coolant helps warms up engine oil). Can also kind of hear fans at a stop.

Did the same thing but at nighttime ambient ~90F and coolant and oil warms up normally to dead in the middle ~210F.

No codes or warning when checked with bimmerlink. Guessing it's just a normal G80 cooling procedure combined with this rare el niño/heat wave we're getting.

I just got back from the dealership and the master technician states that the hot 🥵 temps make the cars thermostat open more than usual and by using the AC in auto mode turns the fan on at its highest speed. The vehicle cools faster because coolant is constantly moving through the system by the thermostat opening more often. He said that in the winter it’s cooler so the thermostat will open less often but of course at its specified temperature so the gauge is more consistent. Please don’t shoot the messenger I’m just relaying what the tech told me and the advisor at the same time. They are going to send the information collected to a BMW engineer. Temps in my part of NM have been averaging 102-106 consistently. They did provide a document that I will summarize when I read it’s entirety!
