No online connection

Hey all. Drove 250 miles yesterday with no traffic info, so my car isn't connecting to bmw. I tried accessing sent destinations in the sat nav, and it told me to sign my profile out, and sign back in. Well, I signed out, but now when I try to sign back in, I get a 'No online connection' error. Anyone troubleshot this before? I'm going to the dealer Monday for an oil change, but figured any additional information would be helpful. Thanks!

Have you tried rebooting idrive? If you're in the car, with the head unit on, hold the power/volume knob in for 30 seconds. The headunit should initiate a restart. Not sure if this will be a fix but worth a shot.

I'll give it a shot later today. Thanks for the tip!

If rebooting doesn't work just disconnect the negative cable on the battery for around a minute and reconnect.

I was having somewhat related issue with connected drive login. Did the reboot process with the volume button, Logged back and login issue was solved! Thanks for the tip!

I'll have to try this next. Rebooting did not help.

Just an update. It fixed itself when I started the car this morning, to go to the dealer 🙄. I told the dealer about it, and they did note a fault on the 'central module' when they scanned the key. They would have needed to keep the car all afternoon to look at it, and since there were no loaners and I have stuff to do today, it'll have to wait until I get back to my home dealer in AZ (currently in Vegas).

Another update...SA was able to snag a loaner, so it's in there today. He mentioned it probably just needs a software update, so we'll see what they end up doing.

Got the car back today. They found two faults:
B7F8F9: headunit reset
CD0600: ethernet physical fault

They then reprogrammed the headunit to address. Hopefully this fixes the issue. Overall I was very pleased with the level of service at BMW of Las Vegas.

Good to know

I lost connectivity in mine soon after buying it (~500 miles on it)
I ended up using ISTA to reset the Telematics unit (IIRC) and fixed the issue.
