The cell phone mount from the jungle (Amazon) came in and here it is:

Front:

The first I did was remove the logo on the magnetic mount portion (above) with a little nail polish remover and elbow grease. Its still faintly visible so I'll have to give it another go with goo-be-gone to perfect it.

Back:

I don't have the car yet so I obviously can't try the fitment, but it seems legit. I'm going to wait until I have the car to decide whether or not I'll wrap it (either in glossy black or glossy carbon fiber).

I made a video on the Pitaka. Now if I could only get the 12 volt to accept a fast charger adapter I'd be all set.

Great video. It looks like the ball socket on that is 17mm, which is the same as the mount I have. It'd be great to have wireless charging and their carbon fiber case for the iPhone 12 Pro is also very nice.

Also, great watch! (I have one as well and it's one of my favorites).

Thanks. Yea, it seems to be the standard ball socket size that I have had on multiple different device mounts so it must be the universal size. My only critique that I forgot to mention in the video is that actually wish the case was thicker to the point where there was no camera hump. Definitely makes for a very minimalist case.

My Pepsi GMT is one of the watches that I don't think I'll ever sell.

Great video!

I went with the Proclip. I have a pretty strong aversion to any vent mount but will admit Pitaka looks halfway decent. I still can't deal with the wiggle that vent mounts make and I have a bit if PTSD when a vent mount broke the vane on my brand new M235 back in the day.

Thanks. I've had some bad experiences with previous vent clips and would love to have something more sturdy, but really this one is pretty decent. I've had several Proclips and the mounts are definitely sturdy, but tend to be huge and the ball neck is too thick so you can't rotate the head over as much as you'd maybe need to. It's a trade off between form and function.

I got the 15 degree wedge for this mount and it works great. Will grab a pic tomorrow

There's a tab at the top that slides over the panel and also adhesive on the top.

The reviews on Amazon say it doesn't even require the adhesive as it stays in place without it.

Here are some pics of the Proclip + Scosche magnetic mount. I have a specific phone case I'll use when I mount in the car, because wireless charging on my desk dock wont function with the metal plate needed to hold it there, so that's the one caveat. (Digital key seems to work just fine)

This has the 15 degree wedge and it faces the screen at me perfectly. The mount is SOLID, and doesn't move or wiggle at all even when interacting with the screen. FaceID works with just a glance even with sunglasses on. The mount itself comes with adhesive to hold it on the solid edges of the vent (doesn't affect adjusting the direction of the passenger vent) but it's so solid I don't think I'll ever use that.

It does come right to the top of the recirc, A/C, & Max A/C buttons but I rarely change those anyways. It does NOT interfere with the passenger seat vent/heat or passenger side temp controls at all (tested and validated by my wife).

Oh, and ignore the banana crocs. I'm full on dad mode today.

It was the one on proclip's website so I'm not sure of the specific model?

It attaches to the mount with 3M VHB tape.

The mount is strong enough to hold a 10" iPad ?but blocks pretty much the entire dash but was a fun experiment.

Where did you get this MagSafe mount? I don't see it on the proclip site? The Magsafe charging one they have has a bottom lip as well?

https://www.proclipusa.com/category/...r-phone-mounts

The one without the bottom lip is for the Mini or regular sized
The one with the lip is recommended for the heavier Pro/Pro Max

So far I really like it, it looks nice and doesn't obstruct anything.
What trim is that in your car?

Am I the only one that doesn't like having any phones hanging from anywhere in the dash? I simply keep phones in the cupholder while using wireless Apple Carplay. I'm not one for any wires or mounts. I guess I'm too OCD lol.

Here is what I use to utilize the digital key and give it wireless charging. This keeps the phone out of my hands and eyes. Here is the link to the base which sticks very well to the NFC base and survived a BMW car control clinic with included a mini autocross and the phone never moved. I used the Apple MagSafe charger in the middle. I will reroute the wires when I get a chance under the console.

I lived my KUDA mount in my F30 and F80 and they make one for the G20, which should fit the G80 right?

I have covering up vents and I hate dangling wires, so hopefully this fits and looks decent:
