Offset talk - g80 m3

Hi all,

Im about to order a set of 20x10 and 20x11 BC Forged wheels and trying to figure out the best offsets.

I want to run a 285/30/20 front and 295/30/20 PS4S on the back and will be lowered on KW HAS (not super low).

Can anyone shed some light on the "perfect" offset?

Vehicles is G80 M3 incase it matters compared to M4.

I ran the following spec dropped on MSS with no rub. The rear was not slammed though...

You can search for one of my threads to see fitment. Signature and BC Forged are pretty much the same.

Signature SV107 Brushed black triple tint finish. 20x10 et14 20x11 et16
Michelin PS4S 275/30/20 295/30/20

The guys at BC will guide you. I've ordered 5 sets for various cars. Tell them your goal.

Just ordered another set from them for my G82.

I would +1 this. Personally I will be going 20x10 et11 21x11 et11 with KW HAS, not expecting any rubbing as my stock wheels with spacers are at the same position (+15mm) and it doesn't look like they will rub if lowered. Not sure if the below info helps but it gives you an idea how much of a change these are from stock with respect to total diameter (including tire)

19x9.5 +20 275/35/19 to 20x10 +11 285/30/20 Diameter difference: 4mm (679) (0.6%)
20x10.5 +20 285/30/20 to 21x11 +11 295/25/21 Diameter difference: 2mm (681) (0.1%)

For anyone following....
I've ordered BC Forged RZ21 - Dark Brushed Black
20x10 +12 Front
20x11 +14 Rear

BC Forged recommended these specs and said they've done numerous sets for G80 M3 now in these sizes.

Wheels are 30 days away. Will update thread with photos when they're fitted.

Does HRE make any of thier Flow Form wheels in G8x fitment? I know they make 20x10, 20x11 for the F8X but the offsets seem high.

Thanks mate, BC Forged emailed and said that alot of people have ordered the +15/+12 offsets but they've had no feedback on them yet.
I decided to change to +14 all round.
Rather be safe for the sake of a couple of mm here or there (the fitment guys would shake their heads at this lol)

Will update with photos so you can see the +14 all round fitment when they arrive.

I have the BC Forged model KL14. I have +8 in front and +5 in the rear.
Seems nice and flush.

In what sizes? Assuming those are 19/20? What width is the wheel?

Ordered the following (bcforged). Recommended fitment from both bcforged and another bmw
Specialist . (I believe there is still room
To get more aggressive too on those offsets so mine are on the mid-conservative side)

F:20x10 Et16
R:20x11 Et14

Can you run regular BMW center caps with those wheels?

With BC forged you have to specify that you want the wheels cut to accept OEM caps.

It costs extra.

Dumb question on offset for G80/82:

From what I've read on offset, as I only am just looking into what it all means so I can order a summer-set of wheels, if you want to have a huge concave or big lip, you want negative offset. That said, I know stock wheels on our M3/4's are positive offset, but I'm just trying to understand how best to get as large a concave or lip as I can get without a wide-body kit.

FYI I'm likely ordering from BCForged as well, as I want to spend 4-6k, not 10-15k

In these wide widths and for the fitment on this platform, you are unlikely to find (and don’t need) true negative offset wheels (where the mounting face of the wheel is actually towards the inside of the mid-point of the wheel width). But yes, generally speaking, lower positive offset than the oem positive 20mm, should help with a concave fitment.

Best advice on this is to work with your chosen wheel manufacturer to determine the most concave look (or biggest lip) designs they make in your specs, and go from there. The actual design of various wheels (spoke shape, lug area shape, design of where/how the spokes actually attach to the barrel) will all make some wheels look more (or less) concave, in the same specs.

Concave typically refers to a 1-piece wheel, whereas the “lip” that you may be after is typically only possible on a 3- or 2-piece wheel.

Thanks man, I'm starting to get all this. I'm pretty set at this point on HRE, and just posted a new thread in the wheels section, asking for the best place to order them from to get the best deal in March.

That said, I change my mind like a 3 year old, so who knows, but this was really helpful so thank you.

With the G8x M3/M4 wheels having OEM et20 offsets, and seeing as low as et6 and et12 with BC Forged wheels in +10" wide wheels, deepest concave (front and rear) would not be an issue. The issue is always clearing the front calipers with those low offsets in the front.

BC Forged will tell you the most concave that they can make while clearing the front calipers at the et that you want.

I'm thinking of ordering BC Forged wheels and will not lower my car. Currently have 15/13 spacers and like the poke at the bottom and want the same. I think I could of gone 18mm on front and still be ok. Also I like the aggressive concave for wheels so I'm sure they will advise me on fitment.

I was looking at some BCs. Nice wheels. Autocouture just got back to me on a set of HRE. Pulling the trigger on them. You only live once right lol. Got a quote on a set of AL13. Suprisingly my wife said "well its your money and you work hard for it. I cant believe im going to say this but get them if you want them" lol So ordering them up before she changes her mind lol
