Updated (LCI) German Configurator - Are laser taillights optional?

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Link for those interested in playing around: German Configurator

Couple notes:
1- Biggest thing I noticed: Laser taillights might NOT be standard. I could only get them to show when I added adaptive LED headlights. Gotta wait for 2025 US order guides to confirm availability, I think. Adaptive LED headlights and Laser taillights shown here, vs "standard" (non-blue highlights inside the units):

2- Alcantara steering wheel is a factory option, and forces you to get CF trim:

3- The silver 825M's look hot. I am a big fan of the silver/chromed wheels coming back into style.
4- Aventurine Red seems to have moved to the "regular metallic" paints, from the "premium metallic but not quite Individual" range, at 960Eur like Toronto Red, IOMG, etc. Basically, I expect it to be a $650 paint instead of the current $1950. Dravit and Tanzanite are still priced at the "premium" range at 1920Eur.
5- There is a color clash error with the red/black stripes; should you wish (not sure why though ) you could get the red stripes on Aventurine Red, but not on Toronto. The black stripes are not applicable to BSM. In either case, you get black roof with the sunroof, but neither stripe is available on Frozen paints. Google Translate translates it as paint, and NOT vinyl. The black roof does not apply if you do not spec the sunroof, that still comes CFRP.

6- Interior trims are listed only as the carbon fiber, and the dark rhombicle. The US pre-LCI configurator also has two pre-LCI options for Individual Aluminum and Piano Black. Not sure if they will be offered, but given the central and pass. side AC vents' shape changed, I don't think retrofit is possible.
7- The Individual configurator hasn't been updated to show LCI headlights, yet.

Very interesting. Based on the interior pics, looks like idrive 8 staying put is true but there are some subtle interior updates with AC vents at least.

Yeah that's quite odd. The video for announcing it had a weird 8/8.5 hybrid with them adding the seat/steering wheel heat to the temperature tap area like it works on 8.5, but they kept the same bottom bar with the "CLIMATE MENU" button like in 8. We'll have to see when the car actually is real what we get I think.

Those look like the old 825Ms, which weren't. If you go through the German configurator linked above, selecting CCBs makes you change to 826s now as well.

Think the Laser Taillights will be a direct swap for those looking to upgrade or will they require additional hardware?

You can already get aftermarket’s and swap them now for the current G82 so I don’t see why not.

Door cards seem to be different as well now.

Thanks for sharing. We now await US ordering/pricing guides.

Lasar rears will be standard for the US market, as that is what the press release stated and the 4 series also receives. Otherwise it would have been mentioned as optional equipment such as the alcantara steering wheel. Each market specs different options/packages from what BMW AG offers. Can’t compare Germany to US, as it’s not a apples to apples comparison. Need wait for the US price guide as I’m surprised the LCI launch colors aren’t up on the German configurar yet.

Edit: UK configurar is also live. Additional packages are different than what has historically been standard for the US market.

M Version of iDrive 8.5 looks the same as the M Version of iDrive 8. Only difference is in the climate features. Quick select for heated seats (and/or ventilated), revised climate displays in the menu.

I'm not a big fan of the upgrades, to be honest. I like the current one better.

"LCI launch colors"??? I read no new colors.

I was disappointed that Tartufo buckets are still not available.

I agree Mike. The headlights just kill the front end IMO. They have no flow to them. The tail lights are pretty cool and the steering wheel. other than that, not feeling it at all. They somehow made the ambient lighting even worse, not sure how that was possible, but having one little light in the middle above the vent looks terrible.

Its more than just looks too...I have the LED lights on the M2 and lasers on my M3 and the difference is night and day when using the high-beams. The lasers are quite literally daylight and I can't tell when high-beams are on in the M2.
