Man, this is one hideous, looking car. It looks like a Christmas tree rolling down the road.

I’m so disgusted with Bmw . I want so badly to buy a new Bmw , but I just can’t bring myself to buy one or two freaking ugly.

Interesting review. Bottom line, fast, a bit twitchy, somewhat compromised for a daily because of the Cup2's. Basically go for it if you intend to track, but if not, just get the Comp xDrive.

But shit....2.7 seconds to 60 with the rollout. Is that a new record for a stock G8X? I mean...that's freaking MOVING. 5-60 rolling start is 4.0; which isn't bad for a turbo.
Yes but they got 2.8 from the regular comp xdrive which is also insane.

Here's what they say about the carbon bucket seats:

BMW's lightweight (and, if you're thick of thigh, cramped) carbon bucket seats are standard.

I was a sprinter on my college track team and have large thighs, no wonder the bucket seats never worked for me.

It really depends on HOW you are built too. My things are large but the big killer is I'm duck footed. So my legs are always trying to rotate out....right into the bolsters. I could never learn to heel / toe because everyone kept telling me to rotate my heel out to the right and blip the throttle while keeping my toe in the brake. Well to put in context, that would be like a normal person putting their toe at 9:00 and their heel at 3:00! Not gonna happen. I finally learned to do it using either side of the ball of my foot.

So for me, the buckets are uncomfortable because my hips and upper thighs are always trying to roll out into the bolsters.

I’m 1.90 meter and I fit decently. The first day I drove my M3 CS from GA to IL no stops and I didn’t need the chiropractor. I mean it’s not a comfy seat, but it’s still acceptable.

I thought the Car and Driver review of the M4 CSL was a typo with a trap speed of 131, but at 300lbs lighter than the M3CS maybe that’s legit. M3CS vs M5CS would be interesting.

Only thing I don’t like is the front nose holes, but you can’t see them from the seat.

10.7 @ 129 is just an absurd time in the 1/4 mile for a small sedan... imagine if it didn't weigh 3900 lbs...

^^^^^^^This! 129 mph, not too many years ago it was a big deal if a car trapped 110 mph. 129 is nuts. Fast enough for my ass.

To me it’s surprising the grip was only 1.06G versus 1.03G for the regular Comp given the CS has Sport Cup 2R tires versus Pirellis or PS4S. Maybe they tested the CS in less favorable conditions, or didn’t get enough heat in the tires? It seems like the magazines would be good about getting the tires hot to get peak grip from them, but who knows. I expected a lot bigger difference between the CS and Comp due to the tires.

The PS4S *BMW spec tires are very grippy, but I imagine the Cup2R hold up better lap after lap.

Misha talks about this in the recently posted M2 Ring lap videos. That car has standard PS4S not star specs and he mentions the BMW variant as being closer to a cup tire than a non-star spec tire. That said, I don't think these test results should be all that surprising given that there really aren't that many upgrades from CX to CS. It's not like C to CSL in the rear drive variants. Another interesting bit, the car they are referencing for CX numbers was a Jahre and on the Pirellis.

Apparently, and they always sell on the boards for about $500-600 a set nearly new.

I saw the Signal Green CS at Indy and it was gorgeous. It's not for me since I need a daily, but I wish I could have driven it on the track.

There is an overabundance of "Michelin or die" types on this board. They bit the marketing hype hard. It's weird.

In fairness to them, there was a time where Michelin was just that much better than the rest. I think they're probably still a tad better. Where the PS4S are really good is life. They lasted nearly 25k miles a set on my F8X cars.

M3 CS looks good, can the Base G80 M3 make 70 additional HP like the CS with increase in psi?

I think S58 can take additional Turbo boost without having to change rods or pistons

They last longer a tad longer but sacrifice performance for it. And that's assuming that they don't chunk badly on the shoulders halfway through their life, something Michelin is notorious for.
