It's your car, valet is a suggestion, they have no insurance that's why it's user beware if they fuck up your car, tipping the 20 just keeps them from arguing and no kid is going to decline 20 dollars to not do his job lmao My girlfriend freaks because I often have to walk a few blocks to the restaurant but it's worth it in the long run (I live in nyc)

Well, sorry to dig this up but my garage in NYC who have valet parking only scratched my car.
It's on the lower corner of the bumper which luckily is replaceable, so I can just order a new corner piece and have them pay for it. The PPF did it's job on the bumper and has a very light graze which might buff out but fuck it, should be a nice excuse to get them to redo my bumper's PPF which had one minor flaw anyway They denied it for about 3 mins and then quickly brought out the claim form and said they would take care of it. Such a pain in the ass, this is the only mark on the whole car and it wasn't my fault and I wasn't driving. Pretty annoying. I was thinking of getting the invoice from BMW and hopefully they just cut me a big check and I can replace it with an after market splitter instead that I have my eye on. I assume these corner pieces are not cheap from BMW? Anyone know off hand? This is mostly damaged PPF but the damage goes through the clear coat on the glossy lower corner piece |

Front splitter part #51-19-2-475-168 $2,460 plus labor to install Rear winglet (left) part # 51-19-5-A1B-169 $1,210 plus labor Rear winglet (right) part #51-19-5-A1B-170 $1,210 plus labor Safe to say that will be an expensive mistake for them to pay, will they say they can have it "fixed"? lol. |

It's the OEM black glossy corner piece on the front bumper. Im guessing it's $600+ or something equally absurd but yes. It'll be an expensive mistake for them. They'll have to re-do the PPF and Ceramic coating too. Probably a couple of grand for a small graze but I'm sure they have insurance..they had a stack of claim forms in the booth so being a big company, I'm sure they have a process |

I'm not sure where $20 or $30 will get you a spot out front. I used work at the at Delano Hotel in Miami Beach and to be "out front" was minimum $200 on a weekday! This was about 2006.

I stopped sending my car to valet for many years now.
Recently I went to Hollywood Bowl, paid $50 for valet and park myself. I gave the key to them, and the car was at the same spot when i picked it up after the event. I guess I was “lucky” enough they didn’t need to move my car |

That's a unique situation. In the NYC area, Delray Beach, FL area (where I own homes) it is $10 to park the car yourself. I don't ask, I just pull up to the valet and say "you mind if I park the car myself?"
