Yeah, I was an auto tech for a number of years on high-end sports cars, and I've never heard of that idea that the clutch would be stuck like that and need to wear in. That sounds like they screwed something up and they're feeding you some BS.

Please keep me updated when you reach out. I’m curious to see how Kai responds to you. Currently he opened all the videos I sent him, but left me on read. It IS Sunday, so I’m gonna give him until tomorrow to answer, but I’m not very optimistic.

It's now Monday. He's read my messages and has not responded to any of them. I've reviewed the warranty information and even if my shop caused the malfunction, it is still covered under warranty. I just have to prove that it was done by a shop, and it was.
I'm getting nervous that since he's halfway around the world I'm just going to be ghosted and left shit outta luck. This is extremely disappointing. |

I sent another message to him saying that I feel like I'm being dodged because I'm having issues and he replied almost immediately. Currently the game plan is to send me another Sinter w/ dampener and Intermediate disc. I also talked him into sending me another pressure plate just in case. He seems to think that one or both of the discs is warped, so hopefully I get a shipment confirmation soon.
I chose to stay with the performance pressure plate for my replacement, mainly for the guys who are following my updates waiting to install the upgraded plate. If the replacement parts work, then we know the performance plate wasn't the issue and you can go ahead with your install at least. Here's hoping I was just unlucky and got the lemon. |

I'm trying to talk him into sending me the whole kit, but I doubt it will work. I just hope it all works out, and hopefully the issue is not with the pressure plate. I'm trying to keep everyone as informed as possible with all of it just in case anyone is waiting to pull the trigger on one. |

Got him to agree to a complete replacement, minus the flywheel. Which I’m fine with. Flywheel clearly isn’t the issue. |

This is the first issue I've heard of with PTB. There could be a few, but it's certainly a small % if there are more. Hopefully it gets ironed out.
CM just about everyone had issues, it was a very high % before everyone jumped ship to PTB. |

It’s the first issue you’re hearing of because so far I’m the only confirmed person trying to run the upgraded plate.

Anyone know how hard it is to replace the clutch relative to other cars? I’ve dropped the transmission and replaced a clutch on a 350Z. Not sure how this car will be but I don’t figure much difference

Should be the same, nothing special. BMW has been using the same transmission since E46 diesels.

It's simple. The most annoying part is reaching the top bolt on the trans. If you go PTB, their twin disc clutch is one of the simplest processes. Literally just bolts together except for setting the SAC springs.

...still listening in...
I'm hoping there will be some clear direction as to which clutch to go to for as pnp solution as possible.

It's time to get the regular unit with the grippy discs. I have the weakest unit available and it's grabbing hard. I'm convinced they never actually tested these and just started selling them. It took almost 2000 miles before my clutch started feeling oem good. The first 500-700 had me regretting the switch. I fuck up EVERY car I buy and never learn. |
