I was sure that I wanted the M3 before these cars were revealed. Now seeing the M4 I'm definitely going with G82.

I've always been more of a coupe person. Of the 10 cars I've owned over 27 years, only one has been a 4-door. But for the G8X, I think I prefer the 4-door as it foregoes less of the classic BMW design features. On the 2-door, I do not like the belt line that resides below the door handles, the demise of the Hoffmeister kink and the lower window line that sweeps upwards and away from the belt line.

But regardless, I likely wont be getting either. Size, weight and 8AT are deal breakers for me .

I haven’t even seen the G22 IRL yet to properly judge the M4’s overall design. I went pass the closest dealer yesterday but no luck.

Are the G22s start showing up at your dealers?

I have seen the G20 and find it utterly boring and near invisible. The M3’s front, windy body and aggressive trim make wonders to it.

Always been a coupe guy as well. I prefer the M3 too, and don’t like the 8 series queues on the M4. I’ve not been a fan of the 8’er coupe and this just looks way too similar with the beltline and window.
I do really like those bucket seats though!

The good news is that you can have those CF buckets in the sedan

The M4 has more competition with other coupes. It's competing against some of the most beautiful cars in the world. That's not to say that the M4 can't be regarded as more beautiful than an M3... but it's got some serious company.

I'm willing to bet that more people would be likely to say that the M3 is one of the most beautiful sedans on the market than how many would be likely to say the M4 is one of the most beautiful coupes on the market.
Spot on summary here. I'm torn between the coupe and sedan. I love the wheel arches of the M3 but prefer the rear of the M4 by far.

What competition does the M4 coupe have? I'm completely out of the loop on coupes lately.

M3 for me. The new M4 sort of resembles an infiniti Q60

Not a lot that I'm aware of in that price range that I would be interested in anyway. I'm open for ideas.
