Sure this isn't a 4 series? Also no power dome?

100% sure. This hood is unique for the M3 and M4.

While the photo quality is poor, I would definitely say this is real, based on everything else we've seen, this pretty much matches up.

Is it just me, or do the fake hood scoops make the "kidney nostrils"(TM) look even bigger!

(and do I really want to drive a car with fake hood scoops?)

We prefer the term "inverted powerdomes" over fake vents. Thanks!

And although this doesn't look great, I'll continue to reserve my judge for the full reveal.

As for the hood design I’m mainly curious how those indents will drain and not be full of water, muck and grime between washes? And the risk of scratching the paint job trying to clean them out seems like a PITA.

LOL... every M-car now comes with two built-in bird baths!

But, seriously BMW, why does the M4 have bird-bath nostrils, while the new Giulia GTA shoots fire out of it's arse??!!

(when it's not on a tow-truck, obviously)

Well, it might not, its just photoshop

https://jalopnik.com/the-alfa-romeo-...-ph-1842028810

Speaking of Alfa's, the more I look at this new 4er front end, the more it looks like they just tried to double Alfa's grill and say that they're kidney's.

It may be the worlds worst photo but I think it's real.

Played around in photoshop and it's all there. Grilles are there, weird bonnet recesses are there, hole for the toeing eye is even there.

I'd put money on it...

Good point. It's also just a little odd in my opinion.

Horrific grill and 7 more years of hood line abomination. It’s almost like they intentionally dumbed down the design so that i4 sells better.

That dull headlight does more to pronounce the dumb looking face than augment the overall design. I am surprised the M design team approved this horror.

I think this could actually be legit based on everything we've been seeing over the past year.

These shots could be pre-production variants of the i4 (announced today) rather than the next M3/M4

Well, what do you think about it having seen the better quality pics? What about your source who's seen it in person?

Honestly the front could not have looked uglier than what I see in this pic, but I'm still patiently waiting for the official reveal (or high quality photos). I actually kinda like the front end of the Concept 4 and the just-revealed Concept i4...... so how can I not like the front of the M3/M4? Doesn't make sense

This is the concept i4. It shows grille and how it looks in the context of the rest of the car. Apparently on the i4, the grille is called the "intelligence panel" (because electric cars don't need a grille). I'm still not totally getting it but it is growing on me a little.

I am starting to think that the reality of automobile evolution simply does not jive well with sport car enthusiasts.

Design, performance, convenience and economy are directed at the masses, not the relatively small community of sport car enthusiasts.

I think a manufacturer of predominantly sport cars, such as Porsche, has their niche and will continue to evolve with focus on the sport car.

Conversely, it seems BMW is heading in a different direction, focusing on the a larger sector of consumers. This has probably been true all along, however, the 'lines in the sand' are just becoming more apparent.

I suppose the term 'sport car enthusiast' has come to equate with 'traditionalist.'
