Racechip/JB4 G80

I know this thread is somewhere on here, but I cant find it or cant figure out how to find it haha.

I am new to the aftermarket tuning of M3, so when I read some of y'all chat about it i kinda of figure it out, but really have no clue.

I have a 2022 Xdrive coming relatively soon, after the break in obviously, I am thinking about Racechip or Jb4 option, for the easy HP addition that seems insane!

Has anyone put JB4 or Racechip on Xdrive G80 yet? What chance that it actually causes damage or causes problem? Does the car need other additions if tuned with RC or JB4? I have owned many high hp vehicles and know to not push the car when its not warmed up etc.

I am just curious what percentage of y'all do this to a brand new $85k+ car? The easy cheap massive hp addition in quite enticing!!!

Im running Racechip on map 6, since yours is X-drive, you can run it on map 7 for more power while keeping traction control.

Its reliable, safe and adds a lot of power.

I will be testing the Jb4 later with E85.

the biggest advantage of the race chip is the easier install. Jb4 is more aggressive, with a lot more features and controls given to the user (including a safety failsafe that kicks you back to the stock map if the car is running lean or over-boosting).

I strongly recommend you try one of the two, you cant go wrong with either one.

1) Anyone know the 7 map settings for RC? (ie what fuel can be used for each). I know JB4 first 2 maps are only for 91 and the rest of the maps are for race fuel.

I daily my g80 xdrive so probably not looking to go race fuel at all. As such the RC does seem more practical if it can give me more gains just from 91.

2) But from my limited research, it did seem that jb4 has a bit more aggressive power delivery, but perhaps only really seen in the race fuel maps?

a more aggressive power delivery would might make more sense for the xdrive as it can put the power down better than the RWD versions. As such, I heard the RC power delivery is more linear.

Wondering if anyone can comment on the difference in power delivery between the RC and JB4 in 91 maps?

(Its not really discussed on the other forums in detail. just that RC easier to install and JB4 more geared for race fuel and has a bit more options/customization).

you can use 91 octane with map 7. no need for race fuel

on 91 on a stock car, both tunes should perform the same. The JB4 starts making more power with better fueling and / or more mods
