Good job BMW, way to make the grill even fuglier. Didn't think you guys could do it, but where there's a will there's a way.

I mean Jesus guys, at least honeycomb the F'ing thing, not make it even more like a gaping hole.

How do we know it's not a CS model?

Also, why wouldn't they want it to be AWD? I get weight savings is a concern but wouldn't it be faster on the ring with the AWD?

Luckily they're only making a 1000 of them so you won't even be able to get one. Lol

If the G82 CSL steps it up a notch on the ultimate driving machine scale, count me all in . . . and I have no doubt it will.

For now, I guess I will get another solid 9 months of enjoyment out of my G80C.

Love the matching idea. Can't wait for that photo shoot and drive day. I'm going to pair my F87 CS with a G80 Touring. Two peas in a pod of rare M's that meet very different briefs.

Interesting, the lower spoiler and new stance takes away from the hideous front and makes it acceptable. I wonder what the actual Nurburgring time is for the G80. All hush hush so far. Old one did it in like 7:45 and GTS in around 7:28.
And F80 CS in 7:36 if I recall

7:30 for the G80.

The hate for the front of this car makes people discount or even ignore it's performance, which is a substantial improvement over the previous gen. I got rid of my F80 CS this morning because it wasn't enjoyable to drive compared to my G80 in any way at all.

Ghostriderf80 see below. While I don't think we have seen a BMW reported time, it is a damn impressive 7:30 and not "hush hush." Hatred of the looks is one thing, and I certainly appreciate your opinion about the front, but this car has got it where it counts.

Car is too slow. Grill isn't big enough. Feedback from grill detractors is very valuable and will make a difference. Thank you Facebook and Twitter for giving people the confidence that every opinion should be voiced in extremes.

You will not hear me dismiss the performance of the g80. Everything I have read or watched on you tube says it's amazing to drive. I saw one in the flesh yesterday and I am sorry, but I just can't get past the front end. I have forgiven/gotten used to some of the other quirks, and could live with them, but not the front. I can't own a car I don't like the look of. No matter how awesome it drives. For now all my hopes and dreams are pinned to the G87.

A potential M2 CSL sounds pretty good but probably won’t come out until 2024 or 2025. As a F87 M2 CS owner, I only have interest in CSL versions. No interest in Base or Competition versions.

I doubt AWD would improve times. There shouldn't be any RWD grip issues at these speeds, especially with Cup 2s. Look at a GT2 RS. Porsche cut AWD for better lap times and that's with 700hp and 3200 lbs.

AWD adds weight and worse weight distribution. The M AWD system is remarkable in this regard, but CS (and CSL) take aggressive measures to cut weight.
