i could see high demand for aftermarket grilles, bumper, hood, and rear diffusers...

Passing on this generation, I really wanted to get back into an M after selling my F82. I'll probably just wait and see what else tickles my fancy.

I know I had a nightmare, just didn't knew it will keep going on while I'm awake.

I thought about the new Z4, then it came out with the horrible front design. I thought about M4, then it came with this horrible grill. I hope they will make the me right, otherwise I will have to trade in my F87 with for a 718. Sorry BMW, been loyal for a long time but your design team really did an horrible job.

Yes the f8x value will organically drop and it'll look dated. But at least I know I bought a car that I had fallen in love with versus forcing myself to buy a car to like it after the fact.
Sounds like the people that hate it are F8x fans. It's an evolution and it was long overdue. I can't ever tell an M3/M4/M5/M8 apart from the front if it's a not close enough, even the F80 and E90 look similar from a distance. If they just put new lights on an F8X it would be the same old again. So glad it doesn't look the m340i as well, it deserves to look unique and aggressive.

I know I'm buying a car I love the look of, I'm sure many people will too.
I totally agree the new G series shouldn't look like the f8x, what would be the point. Just wish they went a different direction with the design.

Glad you like it though, but that's definitely the minority. I'm sure sales will do fine ultimately.

Are we expecting to see a Toyota "car share" version of these cars announced in the next month or so, like the Z4 and Zupra?

https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...yota-gr-supra/

Wondering if it will be the Lexus RC-F or Toyota Camry?

Former F80 owner and now G20. It's a no for me, I wanted to like it but the grills simply are too massive and don't look right to me. The hood lines seem out of place. I guess I'm too traditional but to me there was no reason to go this radical on an icon

+1
+1. A real BMW enthusiast will know why. I could be a hater but I am being true. Ugly design. The front hood has too much lines and ricey. Feels like a a JDM

Can we talk about that interior?!?! M4 rear quarter and rear are aggressive. I'd still like to see what the M3 looks like in person, although I've made up my mind on an m5C LCI. 4 door is just so much more practical.

The hood looks horrible. Rear square design diffuser is what I tried to stay away from when looking at diffusers for the F8x. This one just looks so bulky in the rear.

I can live with the grill, if all blacked out.

Will wait till tomorrow...but Pcar.

Over time I've been shifting from "god why" to "ehh it'll be alright" but now that we've seen it I'm saying nearly all sins are forgiven, they ruined the G22 but I like the G8x. The front isn't gorgeous, but a great change, and the rest is gorgeous. The colors really pop too.

Quite possibly the worst designed BMW in the history of BMW? Does it get any worse than this?

On the bright-side, my low mileage F87M2 just got more valuable

::: Also, having driven the G20 330i as a loaner, the car feels like a MASSIVE boat - hard pass

Unbelievable how the design went backward. I purchased my F80 after the lease ended few days ago and I have no regrets.

100% this is a cost cutting measure. That is a 3 series rear door.
Exactly that's what I figured as well. The grill itself is not as bad as it seems but the bottom part of the front bumper appears to be too narrow in a sense that it's very weird. Don't know if a more aggressive front lip is going to fix that.

These pictures certainly look legit - thanks! Not all good, not all bad. Certainly these look better than the 4 series with all the black plastic on the front vs. actual (or apparent) functional air intakes on the M models.

I have little doubt that these cars will perform. The S58 engine is nuts and BMW continues to refine its EPS.

That said, I am very glad I have a 2020 M2C.

The body lines really pop on the yellow and the underbody i think sets up the grille well...however, this is going to still look hideous with US spec plates and i think it'll look best black on black on black.
Who really uses a front plate anyway? lol
