Just updating everyone. I’m going on 4 weeks at the port lol. Dealer is crediting me $1500 for a rental from now until I take delivery of the car; as we are way past any eta they promised me.

Was excited to find this stamp under the hood of the car today. Didn't realize they did that for an individual color.

Any update on your car? Anyone else from week 42 still waiting for their car?

nope, still sitting at the port with ram stop sale open. salesman doesn't know sh*t and it doesn't seem like anyone does. I'm genuinely in belief that BMW will let the car sit there for another year if need be and not lose any sleep over it.

Nope. Below 40 the grip sucks. Wouldn't drive unless I have to.

There are multiple threads pertaining to winter tires (and/or tires in winter) in the "Wheels / Tires" section. I recommend perusing those threads for tribal knowledge and shared experiences.

To your specific question; yes, you can drive moderately in dry, cold conditions on high-performance summer tires. But those tires lose most of their grip in temperatures below ~45°F, so expect braking and handling to deteriorate noticeably.

I haven’t, only because I actually haven’t thought about it. I was told today that they are still expecting the part next week. If next Wednesday comes around and I have no update I’ll definitely call. Any suggestions on what department to even escalate this to?

I would start with BMW NA Customer Support. Via phone as well as a letter. If you are a BMWCCA member, contact the national office and see if anyone there can help to liase with BMW NA as well.

100% going super karen mode. I already got them to give me a $1500 credit for rental reimbursement since I had to go get a rental out of pocket.

i'm not a member, so i havent explored that avenue yet. my salesman and salesmanager are both off mondays & tuesdays so i'm going to reach out to them tomorrow and see what the update is. the lack of communication the most frustrating part in all of this.

Im seeing that 6-7 weeks is the long average wait time. I think you’ve got a while left, I hate to say. I waited 7 weeks and mine just finished today. I’m hoping to take delivery in the next 1-3 days.
