After having a few cars with alcantara, I will never option that stuff again. It gets worn down and looks nasty if you dont brush and clean it weekly. Porsche alcantara was much more robust than my BMW alcantara. I would not use BMW alcantara for knee pads. They will look crushed and greasy real quick. Any lotion on your legs will transfer right over.

This is coming from a guy who would soft tooth brush his alcantara steering wheel at red lights. I cant tell you how many people would look over at me and wonder WTF I was doing...lol.

Youd be surprised how dirty that shit gets. I will never spec alcantara again. Hell no.

I hear you and agree. I had other cars with Alcantara interior and that takes some work to keep clean. I just want more cushion because I hit my right leg all the time. We'll see after I install them. Maybe leather is a better alternative.

Mine arrived today! I will get back to this thread when I pick them up from the post office! I'm super excited to install them and I currently have my lights coded to pink. So it'll be interesting!

I ordered on the 24th, they fit perfectly! You jus have to reuse the clips and make sure they don't go flying. I use a flathead to get them out which works fine, make sure it's a thin flag head. Also when your removing the original pieces make sure not to hurt your hand I suggest pulling up with a tower so the sharp end doesn't piece your skin like I did lol. They also feel lighter than the original pieces because I think the original ones have a metal brace behind them.

Does that mean it will match the footwell color?

That's too bad you are selling your car, the MT cars supposedly use a different side trim, thus why the OEM alcantara knee pads do not fit.

Hey everyone, just installed this myself earlier in the week. Looks pretty good IMO, I'm really enjoying the extra lighting. The light is not as strong as the factory lighting since it's a LED module that connects to the end of a thin tube, but it still light up really well. I did record the install, but not very well. I will post it as a soon as I'm done editing it sometime this weekend.

This is what they look like in the dark. I think that if you are one that enjoys the lighting, this is worth the 100ish dollars.

Since nobody answered that: does the color match the strip or the footwell?
