BUMP this thread. Any more info on running square, especially on an X-Drive to free up tire options? I can only run the MPS4S for so long before I get a new more track oriented set.

I am so trying to find a square set up for track/autox. Anyone know if yhe front will fit a 295/35 19 or 295/30 20? Would love to be able to fit the Yokohama A052s at all 4 corners in that size.

After having my xDrive on track twice, it's clear this car does not need more rear tire, it needs more front. I am looking to go square for my next set, performance wise and so I can rotate save some money on tires. |

What size wheels you have is irrelevant as long as the height of the tire is the same.

Any new options here that anyone is liking? As I’m getting more and more addicted to tracking this thing, I’m thinking a dedicated set of track wheels would be worth it. Are there decent lightweight options that don’t break the bank? Not sure where to begin with track wheels and which brands hold up well to the abuse. Do most of you run squared? Or should I look at 19/18 staggered? Any help here would be appreciated

I ran Square 285/35/19 GYSC3R and now running 265/35/19 F on 10" wheels and 305/30/19 R on 11" wheels GYSC3R. Just experimenting 285 in F with 305 in R seems to be the combination but not possible with xdrive. 265 on 10" wheels front end grip is not up to the point. Next gonna experiment 275/35/19 and 305/30/19. trying to keep the diameter close to 1%. Some one in FB ran Falken 660 275 and 295 and said xdrive worked flawlessly at track. Someone need to break down what is the tolerance %

My 275-35/19 set of BF Rival S 1.5 are pretty much done, maybe still one or two sessions in them.
I am trying to source Nankang CR-S in 295-30/19 to run square on my 19x10 wheels. I know it's at the limit of the rims for these tires but I still want to try it out. The beauty of this setup is cross rotation when you have asymmetric tires, makes tire wear a breeze to manage for track duty. Will get back with feeback

CRS got backordered when I was ready so I got Continental Extrême Force and I really like how they perform, they are very consistent and durable but are probably a bit slower than CRS.

In case it helps, my F80 street setup uses a 315/30-18 on the rear (11 inch wheel). They run small. I bought them last year so they are v1. Assuming v2 is sized the same you should be ok.
They are very very grippy tires but are only good for a handful of hero laps. Fwiw, Phil's Tire Service, describes the v2 compound as designed for time trial and autoX applications. Nankang should do a better job differentiating this tires. It used to be called the CR1, then it's CRS and now it's the CRS v2 but they still seem to be making the V1 so why not call it something different? |

Yellow Stuff by EBC are a great option for track and fast road use. We have seen and heard great results for a hybrid road/track user.
Spacers we normally recommend 12mm at the front and 15mm at the rear. Any one that was looking to get a set let me know. |

If you don't run more than 6-7/10 pace maybe and even then, we are many who went trough sets of EBC blue pretty quick and these are even more track focused than the Yellow.

Any update please?
I intend on tracking in April and looking for a 19” square setup. People who are running 19 , are there rubbing issues and more importantly , how does x-drive handle a square setup? |

Also what offsets are you running in your 19x10? Any spacers? Front rubbing? There aren’t many good options at 295, so I’m also considering doing a square ECF setup, but likely on 19x10.5s instead.
