What’s your break-in procedure?
Hello new owners. Many of you are in the break in period. I am curious on how some of you are planning on breaking in the car?
Safe to say we all want to break in the car properly to insure long lasting engines! Please share your procedure and what not Cheers! |

Just try to vary the speeds and rpm’s with short burst of acceleration. I will stay under 5500 until break-in service. It is a lease but I am enjoying this car more than any other previous BMW and I might just buy it.

Will keep it under 4500-5000 for first 200 miles, or so. Next 300, under 6. Next 2-300 or so, no hole shots, but will take it 6500 on occasion. Having driven high performance cars for a LONG time, babying it for 1200 miles is dumb. Oil/diff change at 1000 miles absolutely. First 100-200 important for the suspension and especially the brakes. I don't intend to drive it like my CR-V, so break in will reflect that.
