How much do you guys make to afford m3?

I make around 150k a year. I have a very specific budget... 401k, rainy day savings, living expenses, etc. After all that goes out, I'm left with my car funds. I'm not a huge traveler and I don't go out and party/drink a lot. Fortunately no long term debt like college loans, etc. My reward for working hard in life is driving an awesome car. If you know how to budget you can easily afford a car like this.

I haven't read most of the thread - I anticipate its like most threads like this...a lot of low-key forum flexin'. I don't make much, but I saved and got creative with the BMW select and investing to make it work. I've always wanted an M car, now I do, but if something happened to it and it disappeared tomorrow - it was only ever just a "thing".

YOLO and in these days, who the f knows how long that will be.

Next wave of M cars might be electric-only, and the S58 might be the last great performance inline-6 from BMW.

If it helps, I also have no idea about basements in Arizona. :-) We had basements in Michigan, where I was hatched, but they were all filled with demons and serial killers waiting for night to fall before they move on to their next target. And washing machines. And wood paneling.

I make about $140K a year from my CalPERS pension and Social Security. I currently have a 2015 F82 M4 and a 2015 Honda Gold Wing. I paid off the mortgage on my house in 2007. I ordered a G82 M4, IOMG with tartufo full leather, on August 29 last year, and I'm STILL waiting.

Presumably, I'll get it before Hell freezes over but right now it's looking an awful lot like vaporware.

You should make at least $15k a month to have a car like this. I'm my opinion anything less is irresponsible. You never know what can happen so having two years living expenses in reserve is necessary. $1300 for your car + $3000 house expenses + everything else and you are at $7k a month easily. You should make double that at the very least so you can afford to save money every month
