If it's anything like the dyno/power thread the haters will just say that the "scales might not be accurate" or "what other cars were weighed here so we can compare to know it's accurate". Every silver lining has a silver lining with the G8X it seems though!

BMW USA is pretty accurate with their curb weight numbers. My 2019 M2C 6MT weighed 3563lbs with full tank while the number on their website was 3600lbs.
US curb weight indeed seem pretty close these days. They have the G82 comp at 3880 gassed up vs the F82 at 3685. 195 lbs between them. Both are likely 20-30 lbs or so lighter in most cases on a scale when not loaded up.

So G8X xDrive will be under 4000 lbs. That's what I was hoping for.

Yes should sneak in under 4K if not fully loaded. In the end though it’s mainly become just a number to most of us after you experienced the impact on handling and acceleration. If the car feel just as light and agile and much faster does it really matter? Not to me.

Add ~ 84lbs for fuel.

Will be interested to get a weight on US spec manual transmission car.

I was just thinking this. Option selection on this car probably makes a huge difference. 8AT is not a light transmission (well, it is for an auto box I suppose). Between that, sunroof, additional subwoofers/speakers, and seats I am sure you can shave 200+ lb easy.

The G80s went back to a AGM battery which can be double the weight of a lithium ion battery. Lots of potential weight savings there.

So +200lb compared to similarly equipped previous gen and awd models would add another ~150-200lbs. Pretty much inline with other estimates.
You could have 3 fit sorority girls as passengers in the F80 and it would still be lighter than G80 awd

All of this squabbling over weight on a car with a back seat...

The G comes with more standard equipment and is slightly bigger in size than the F80. So, nothing exciting happening here. Would you rather BMW give you a basic stereo and weigh the car like that, when everyone will order the better stereo anyway and have the weight of that option anyway?

Great news - that's much better than I expected. Makes me actually believe the reviews that said it didn't feel too heavy.

Does the performance change if you're a fat guy vs a skinny guy? Asking for a friend.

You would think some of these people were racing in F1 trying to shave off 10 pounds everywhere they can. Little ridiculous if you ask me...

Best thing is:
not even 10% will track this car to actually have the interest in having low weight.

It's ridicolous this discussion...this car weighs a lot yes, but damn it gives you also a lot !!

jesus christ not even our engineers in the F1 Team are so pathetic as most here about weight. save here save there...first loose some weight yourself, usually thats the biggest potential to save weight in the car
and that includes my fat ass

I take it that the weight of the F10 M5 is ideal for you.

100% its got 30 miles of range and roughly assuming 30mpg it might have at most 5l aka 5 kg of fuel. Barely anything, people comparing this to their F80 nearly full will 'unknown' stuff in the boot, jeez about 60-80kg difference off the bat!

For the G8X weight this is better than terrible news but everyone saying 1720+ kg is a lithe lightweight sports couple/sedan hmmm.
