Snarf... I hope they take another look for the LCI. We'll see. Oh well, it is what it is...snarf...snarf...

Dont jump to conclusions. There is no confirmation that the grills have changed on the sedan. In fact we have evidence to contrary. Take the 3 series sedan which is "normal " and the 4 series coupe which is "elongated". Quite a change to change entire 3 series after 1 year or so of production to all of a sudden move to a new grill. Doesnt make sense. 4series will finally be differentiated and 3 series will be more subdued and classic.

I've posted in several threads now a picture of the G80 M3 test mule where the "elongated" grills are clearly visible through the camo. The M3/M4 will share front ends as they have in the past.

It's futile sometimes. They are resistant until the end.

I learnt my lesson from doubting your predictions...

What does your crystal ball say about the next gen M2's front end?

The G8X M3 looks to have nice rear fenders by the looks of the prototypes!

Larger grilles than currently, but not like the i4/4/M3/M4.

I agree that wouldn’t make sense. And BMW apparently does as well, because they have no plans whatsoever to update the G20 grill before it’s LCI.

There is no “will be”. We already know what the 3 Series and 4 Series look like because BMW has already debuted those vehicles. This thread is about the M3 and M4 (that’s why it’s in the M3/M4 forum) and they will share the grill in the OP. It is neither the 3 Series nor 4 Series grill - it’s a bespoken design.

I'm excited that the "grill " on the G80/G82 is border-less... really excited to see the final car in an undistorted view.. the effect of the " intake " look I think will be a win.

It will sound like the X3/4M, so no need to wait to determine if it'll sound better.

Also here's a clip from youtube.

Hence my guess: also the G80 M3 and G82 M4 will feature fender extensions ("wheel arch guards").
Do they offer these flares for the M3/M4

They may have slightly different tone. I bet Coupe and sedans will be slightly more aggressive.

Maybe, but probably not too much to make a significant difference. It will likely sound similar to the S55 maybe with a bit less raspiness.

Chill guys, you might grow to like the new design soon. I for one don't feel the front grille looks all the bad but it's definitely not a beautiful design to my eye for now.
On the F90, if you look at the first two generations of M5s, even the e39, they have looked understated. And have aged well. The more aggressive looking e60, has aged badly. And the M5 was always the wolf in sheep’s clothing. The M3 was always the flamboyant one, with boy racer intentions. It’s the one that gets people’s hearts pounding. Whereas the M5 was, you probably know, the one a gentleman with a family, and has grown out of drag racing the 911s. So, the LCI, if softer, seems to be in keeping with that design ethos.
On your first statement. Sure, this maybe the case, however, one can push the envelope too far. We’ll see if this is the case for the Beaver Teef design.
