My dentist drives a GT Turbo and got $20k off msrp so while the G81 will come with a premium (very limited production) the Panny will likely have a discount. Again, wagons look good and all but they don’t sell when the rubber hit the dealer lot. |

As a 911 fan, I would only pay top Porsche dollar for a 911. For 'everyday-practical-all-rounders' BMW M is by far the best bang for buck, IMO. An M3 touring that could potentially be offered in a manual transmission is the ultimate daily car for me. Further, at some point the practical daily car gets too expensive. I would rather purchase The Golf R Estate over The Panamera, if Volkswagen would bring it to The US. The RS6 and Panamera cost of entry miss the mark for me when it comes to how I would use the car, bikes on top, car seats in the back, probably a few bumps and scratches during ownership. The G81 would probably be the sweet-spot IMO and if offered with a manual it would be the enthusiast car to have. If they do not offer it in a manual then I will feel much better, TBH. The manual version of this in existence, but not available in the US would be hard to stomach. |

G81 equivalent in the Porsche lineup would be a Panamera GTS for me and it starts at $135K and we know how that number can go up quickly given the options on any Porsche. I would personally have no problem paying up to $100K for a loaded G81. Also, none of the wagons that are offered in the US market today is available with a manual transmission but G81 would potentially have a 6MT option.

My point is not that you should go and buy the Panny it’s more that if you want a cool fast wagon that is not a crappy Benz( personal opinion) they already exist but hardly no one buy them when it comes down to it. I fully understand BMW’s hesitation to bring them over. |

I was actually thinking about this as well. Even though the chances are really high that it won't change anything, I still think it's worth the effort. If we were to start new thread for a petition, maybe the mods can help us promote it by bringing it to the front page as it progresses. I'm sure it would catch some attention. Again, I think it's worth a try.

This was covered in the other station wagon thread..... by making bmw comfortable that you are willing to spend the extra 250k- 500k per car over the price of the regular M3.
Insiders have said BMW is only producing 1000ish M3 wagons. lets say 100 or 200 get sent to the US... then you only need to cover the 55 million in certification costs (per insiders) for the wagon so they break even. Really I think it would be easiest if one benevolent buyer offered to cover the full 55 million on behalf of all buyers. Would make it that much easier for bmw to be sure the costs are covered. |

Add to that the 1000 unit limitation and you may get 200 over here, dealers will mark them up. In the end I think mid 80s is a low estimate. |

The way the current BMW design team is going maybe they will add fake wood to the sides and bring back the "Woody".

Correct before mark ups and I guess any G8X competition AWD will be in the mid 80s.

Stock stance needs work, I feel like the F8x comps came out the factory stanced better. Like this needs spacers and to be lowered more than the F8x. Still looks good tho.
