The LCI G80 (2025) has already been seen driving around with camo only on the front unlike the G82 that had camo covering the front and the rear lights. I highly doubt the rear lights are changing.

Ffffff didn’t notice you would lose the wheel heating button. May be a deal breaker right there. Shit.

I like it especially the steering wheel and taillights but sad they took away the heated steering wheel button…now you have to dig through the menus it looks like…Also that 3.4 second 0-60 is hilarious, I’m running 3.0-3.2 0-60mph consistently via dragy and drag strip timing in my 2024.

HOT HOT HOT
re: steering wheel heating; my '21 G20 has the "turn on below temperature" for driver seat and steering wheel, i couldn't tell you the last time i actually pressed the button (for the wheel). i would be surprised if they removed that feature from iD8/8.5 |

The cool thing is steering wheels can be swapped out easily, while our headlights aren’t an easy process. But yes, opinions, opinions! 🍻

Love all the LCI updates. Wish BMW would have made the idrive screen fit more plush with the dash. The bracket off the back looks like it was an afterthought.

It should be part of your pre-conditioning settings.

Steering wheel and taillights are great. The headlights are terrible. Decent update but I'm happy with my non LCI.

So here’s the deal-
When they came out with iDrive 8.5 for all the non-M cars (Spring 2023) they introduced the new Home screen with the map in the background, the “Quick select” boxes on the left-hand side, and relocated the shortcuts to the bottom of the screen. However, that was only for the non-M cars. M cars (XM, X5M, X6M, M3, M4) soldiered on with iDrive 8.0 and the “M-specific” look of the horizontally arranged widgets (including the one that shows tire pressures/temps using a depiction of the old M1 from the 70s). This included the permanent “CLIMATE MENU” on the bottom. With the introduction of iDrive 8.5 to the M cars for the 2025 model year, the look appears to resemble iDrive 8.0 like before (still horizontally arranged widgets and CLIMATE MENU at the bottom) but when you press “CLIMATE MENU” you get the new easier to use iDrive 8.5 climate controls. So that’s it in a nutshell. Old skin for the M car version of iDrive 8.5 but new climate controls. |
