Do you need a windows laptop to set up the controller? Plan on getting mine installed at EAS later this month but I only have a MacBook.

Windows only. You can always run a VM in a pinch, or we can set up for you after installation.

How do you update once mounted? Does it remain accessible for usb connection without dismantling half the car?

You can always leave the included USB cable plugged into the module and tucked away, this will make it easier to access if updates are needed.

Really loving this AWRON controller. Hooked up the laptop and told it when I want it to open if its closed and when I want it to close if it's open and now the car sounds like I want it to when I want it to. Very nice.

ASD disable not yet compatible with ID8, but will be a flash upgrade once completed.

Maybe take that out from the feature list then, I questioned it in February and you said it worked and we all know it doesn't.

Received a test sample of the upcoming PnP harness for the Awron CanFlap we'll be installing shortly, this will be offered as an optional add-on to the CanFlap kits and will not require any underhood access. Instead of connecting at the DME signal inputs, this will be routed to the EVC valve connections directly.

No difference in features - only the installation procedure.

Harness assembly is an area where Awron shines, all connections are automotive grade and properly protected/insulated, just like OEM.
