Misha is a youtuber who drives all kinds of cars on the nurburgring. Lots of experience. As he was driving in the rain some kind of error came up. The car was stuck in 8th gear and he said it felt like the steering wheel was disconnected. He parked and started again and it was then OK. I have no idea how that can happen. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Yeah - who knows. Car has been tuned. Wonder if trans has been tuned.

Makes one wonder - w/ a tune/aftermarket software. Who knows what is possible. I'd guess it is that and not an issue w/ stock BMW software.

That's WIFI steering for you. If you get to a spot with too much interference, i.e. a 5G tower, your steering might fail to sync with the rest of car.

This. I don't understand how one tunes the car but leaves the steering wifi stock. Mesh network WiFi 6 or higher is a must. Fucking amateurs.

This issue is right around 5 min.

My guess is an error caused by the rain. Probably the electric power steering had some kind of fault so it was just really hard to turn the wheel. It's not possible for the steering to "disconnect" as it isn't drive by wire steering.
