Full leather and lasers are the only musts imo.
Also I have silverstone, go tartufo. Silverstone is a pain to keep clean. |

You picked the most important option - the MT.
I originally was going with IOMG (we are going there in late May for the TT…) but I really wanted Red interior. But color is very subjective. I would pay to not have a sunroof. Full leather really is nice. Not required but I would certainly order it again. The carbon buckets require a commitment but do make the car special. The rest, well, whatever. |

Sorry, quick side tangent, I from time to time see these comments about "Mexico" and the higher speed limit...is there like an autobahn or something in Mexico where you can just wind it out?

100% get the 19/20 wheels. The 18 inch wheels are going to be tight and I've seen videos of little rocks can get between the calipers and scratch them. Tartufo or KO are the best with IOMG. Try to see KO in person, it looks better than online.
There aren't many options that are absolute must have, but I would say: 1 Carbon trim interior 2 Parking Assistance and Executive package 3 Laser lights w/ shadowline 4 Vent seats if you don't get carbon buckets You can look up posts on buckets vs base seats, but I have the buckets and personally would not get the car without it. Its my favorite option and makes the car feel special. I find them very comfortable, even more than in my Honda accord, but your height & weight might be a factor. Highly recommended options: 1 Carbon exterior (I didn't option this and added my own) 2 Full leather (I didn't option this but wish I did) 3 Drive recorder (nice to have and its only $100) If you track: 1 M Drive Professional 2 CCBs Skip it: 1 Driver assistance (makes the front end look unbalanced and I never once felt the need to use it) 2 Sunroof |

It is not 'higher speed limits ' , its posting videos to which would be showing illegal activity (speeding stunting etc...) if they divulged their true US or CAD location drawing that unwanted attention to sheriffs and law enforcement. 99% of the time they are not actually in Mexico.

Yes, to each their own. I'd rather have a "board" than a woman with an "American figure" (i.e. 100+ lbs overweight).

OP: it's tough to say concretely what is a "must" and what isn't. To many like the person I've quoted above, the 6MT is probably a must-avoid whereas it's a definite for you. You'll get, anecdotally of course, responses from different people based on their own experiences, wants, and needs. I regret not getting the M Drive Professional option because it would've been nice to have stages to traction control when on track, but does that matter to you? Maybe, or maybe not. A better question would be "what options do you regret or regret not getting after owning the car for 1~2 years?" I personally regret checking the shadowline package since I have an individual paint and wanted it on the mirror, and the aforementioned M Drive Professional option, and optioning the 826M wheels because 18/19" wheels would've been perfect for winter wheels rather than me selling the 826M I spec'd out to buy a set of forged winter wheels elsewhere.

When my allocation is ready, I'm going with MT IOMG w/Tartufo and Alu Trim, Lasers, Executive and Parking Pack, Drive Recorder and Vent seats.
My previous M (X3M) had all these packages and they were all worth it to me. Loved Exec pack due to HUD and Heated Wheel, Parking pack was awesome because of the 360 camera and the auto parking (which surprisingly works on MT). I drove a MT m4 with carbon buckets, and unfortunately I'm a bigger guy now then I was before so the seats were not comfortable for me at all and my wife hated them and seeing how this car is going to carry our kid and possibly used for the occasional trip I wanted to save the 5k (not planning on getting rid of this car for the next 6 years atleast). One thing, obviously subjective, I was bored with the auto on the X3M. Even though it's the best all around package, I just felt disconnected from the driving experience even with everything set to sport+. Hence the manual option in the G80 (plus its less $$ upfront so more $$ for mods ><). |

I’ve owned a Focus RS and a Civic Type R. Both manual only. Both had very bolstered seats. Type R didn’t offer a sunroof (I think the RS did - mine didn’t have one). Drivers cars. Certainly cut down on the forum BS… |

I’ve been scouring the forums to not create too much redundancy in this thread, but really torn btwn KO extended and silverstone
Wouldn’t get the full KO to avoid the orange door cards. IMO the KO looks better with black door cards. Silverstone does look better on IOMG vs KO (to me), but this will be daily driven and not sure about how tough it is to keep the silverstone clean. Sounds like it’s a PITA from some of the other threads. |
