Wiring harness is provided with BMW connectors. Connections are made at the BDC control module behind the passenger side kick panel.

One of our earlier installs (not on forum) provided a review of the AWRON module to share:
If i have a awe switchpath exhaust, even in sports mode the flaps are only partially open correct? i read that we need a valve controller to fully open the valves 100%? and we can also set the awron to be fully open on start up correct?

Correct, the vales will only be partially open. The Awron CanFlap will give you full control of the flaps and allow them to fully open.

one last question, the awron valve controller can be set so valves are open all the time ? it says flap position is recalled after every startup so it stays in the position it was left off on correct?

I wonder how much it costs?

I'm surprised that Tom didn't provide a price or a link, and further surprised that I couldn't find it on the web site. No listing for the G80. All other models, however, are available for $450.

Vendors typically won't hardcode a price in a forum thread for obvious reasons. All pics in the post are links to the EAS store. I love the design - flexibility to set specific parameters. Installing tomorrow and will share thoughts soon.

Hit_Apex is correct, the forum has strict rules about Vendors linking/posting pricing outside the vendor's section to prevent spam. You can always PM us if you can't find something on the site.

chicagofan00 Appreciate the link!

Just installed mine this week. It definitely opens the exhaust flaps, but I can’t tell if it closes them I still have to visually check that. Or maybe my settings aren’t set properly. Though I also had coded my exhaust button active as a default. I can also get the trigger function to activate parked, but not while driving not sure if that’s intended though.

Just installed mine as well. Tom was very helpful, as the instructions (included on the thumb drive that comes with the AWRON module) don't appear to be for the G80 and the module itself may differ slightly from what is shown in the instructions.

I'll do a formal post/write-up on my experience and how to do the install. Unfortunately, it's all buttoned up, so I don't have pictures.

The valves are definitely open and it definitely sounds WAY better. It's still not loud enough in my opinion. I'll likely add an aftermarket midpipe or downpipe to get some extra volume.

Even thought he install/instructions weren't like they were supposed to be, the integration is phenomenal compared to the other valve controller options. Being able to use the same exhaust button on the center console is pretty sweet.

Mates, any more feedback from your installs? Did anyone confirm that this speaker exhaust sound can be turned off and anyone played with its own valve opening profiles?

Yeah you can turn off the speaker exhaust sound and yes you can adjust things so the valves open at different times.

Thanks!

Anyone can share manual or link to the DIY video? I could not find anything by googling or on youtube. I was working on car audio installs in the past so I could take on the task but would prefer to asses complexity of the work before will jump on it.

I've been playing with this unit for a few weeks now. Initially, I got into a pattern of closed valve start-ups and exiting the neighborhood before pressing the button to go full open all the time. I generally like the pedal mapping and toned down overrun of Sport, but there are times I like Comfort (no overrun burbles) and Sport+ (lots of pops).
This weekend I kept it in the closed position and played with auto-open property for certain throttle positions. Initially had it set at 85 but landed on 70% as the sweet spot. It's pretty obnoxious to go from fully closed driving to a WOT blast - a sudden massive roar from the engine when flaps go from fully closed to fully open! I think I like that mode better, gives the car a real-time Jekyll/Hyde persona. I have catless DPs which increases volume significantly and coupled with the CSL Ti muffler it's probably one of my favorite mods to exploit S58 engine notes.

Appreciate the review, love to hear good experiences with the Awron kit out in the real world.
