Ah that is unfortunate. I have an iPhone anyway so I think only Apple Maps works like this, not even Google Maps (on carplay)

That's Android Auto in the pic. Carplay has a pretty different look.

AA... but my wife uses ACP in the X7 which also has idrive8. So the way I've seen it work is this:

AA:
Waze - arrow based nav in HUD and instrument cluster, map on main infotainment
Google maps - arrow based nav in HUD, map in instrument cluster and main infotainment

ACP:
Waze - map on main infotainment only
Google maps - map on main infotainment only
Apple maps - arrow based nav in HUD, map in instrument cluster and main infotainment (similar to Google maps in AA)

Unless there's been a more recent update, this has been my experience.

Yup. Definitely a garage queen. Have had it since Oct ‘23 and only has 600km of only sunny day driving on it. She’s (her name is Ripley, license plate will explain that) the third car and I work 100% from home. One day, I hope to get to the break in service….one day….

That's about the lowest I've seen for someone that isn't deployed in the military or otherwise away from home. Do you plan on keeping the car for long?

It should. If you look at wtwo3's posts above he's using Google Maps on Android Auto and can put it in the instrument cluster.

It seems to only work on Google Maps on AA and Apple Maps on CarPlay.

23 M4Comp, April and only 1850mi now. I'd drive it more, but living in the county and being retired removes the imperatives of having to drive to town/work (25mi). I want to drive it anytime, but admit that with hail/tornado possibilities..I take my '22 F-150. Not a garage Queen, just selective. I do tend to opt for the turnpike rather than Route 66 when I run errands, else why have a M4 ?

My M3CX is one of my DDs and I'll drive it in any weather condition, rain or snow. I have a weekend toy that I choose not to drive in the rain mainly for limited performance reasons. At the end of the day, they are just cars and I choose to enjoy them as life is short. To each his own.

I have no intentions of selling it anytime soon. I reckon this will be the last performance ICE I’ll purchase.

Like others I DD my M4CX during warm months, but come winter it goes into hibernation and my Sequoia takes over as my daily. Unfortunately as my commute is less than 10 miles, I’m still not quite to my break in service despite having purchased in late January. My wife and daughters have taken to calling it a museum piece. Looking forward to my first extended road trip as I’ve thoroughly enjoyed its Jekyl and Hyde mentality so far.
