03/2023.50 update available

Took the M3 out for a brief drive and got the update notification for 03/2023 when I came home. I haven’t done the update yet but will this weekend. Seems like just a few weeks ago that I updated to 11/2022.

I performed the upgrade yesterday. After reading the notes all I could see is that my owner’s manual might have been updated. 🤔

Some more discussion here: https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2019881

I’ve found the auto window down feature is working consistently after the update, but nothing else I can point to at the moment

I also performed this update yesterday when I pulled my car out for a bath. I'm assuming these updates are behind the scenes improvements for all the driver assistance systems to improve object detection, camera systems and their parking related actions. All of which we won't notice...

What I do notice with this update and the last update I did just a few weeks ago (11/2022) is my M1/M2 button settings having to be remade. I wish they could figure a way to keep these with how often they are performating updates.

The default settings for these aren't too far off from my own. But when you don't realize this and choose M2 for a quick pull out into traffic and get read lights flashing followed by a fuel cut-off because M2 is no longer in D3 but S3—its a bit of a wake-up call. Obviously very much user error and I'll never make that mistake again. After this 03/2023.50 update I immediately got my settings re-set. Let others learn from my mistake.

Yes it's very annoying.

Mine reset with the last update. Not this one. Strange.

Is this update only for 2023 cars? I'm not seeing it. Thanks.

I had this update done already a month ago at the dealer.
There are quite a few internal improvements to automated driving, one prominent feature that seems to have been added is that when navigation is on and car is on automatic steering and acc, it will actually attempt to change the lanes when necessary according to the navigation.
It will also wiggle the steering wheel for you if you don't react to the lane change suggestion.
Kind of unnerving at first, when you're unprepared...

Good to know. I don’t have the drivers assistance package so this sounds like a minor update for my car.

Is that on a G8x? I was out driving yesterday but didn't notice anything like this in the settings or the actual functionality (native nav app enabled with a destination set, driver assist on, limited-access highway, etc).

I received the update yesterday. Afterwards, I was no longer getting audio output from Android auto. I reset iDrive and removed/added my phone again but still no audio. I ended resetting the system to default and after adding my device again it finally worked. Still have to readd my digital key and adjust a few other settings that were wiped out.

Well my engine was hot when it applied. I applied it in my garage when I returned from a 40 minute drive. I also popped the trunk when I exited and it was stuck open until it completed. Live and learn?

Yes, I too got the 11/2022 update about 4 weeks ago, then did the 3/2023 update just a few days ago.

My M1/M2 settings were wiped out - other than that, nothing different that I’ve noticed. I have a base 2023 M3 without any Drivers assistance pkg so can’t comment on any changes with regard to that.

I’m still rocking 11/2021.30. BMW doesn’t like me or my car apparently. 😬

Honestly you're not really missing anything. These aren't material updates.

You and me both, brother.
The previous 2022 version popped up on my phone app a while back but the car never updated.
Now that version is gone from my phone and it keeps saying there's no update.
