Thanks! It would be great it BMW gave mention to this. I thought the M Drive Professional was only the stupid drift rating app.

The M Drive Professional gives us the 10-stage Traction Control, but I don't believe it raises the max speed limit to 180 mph. I think you need the M Driver's Package for that, for another $2500. NOT!

I wonder if we'll be able to code it in with Bimmercode or the like.

Yes. I agree. $900 is a rip-off without M Traction Control included. With it included, $900 is a bargain IMO.

BMW marketing fails a lot of times.

Personally, I hate the nickel and diming. But, I will bend over and smile.

Well, they should have included the Raised Speed Limit feature in this M Drive Professional option as well.

I suspect it’s not a cheap feature to develop and optimize in order to both have a useful range and be regarded safe enough.

To not have to pay for it for those who never use MDM is welcome I’m sure and for those who do use MDM and fully off the value seem to be there at $1k. So not really nickel and diming.

im not sure its BMW's marketing here i think its all the youtube reviewers saying the 10 stage is standard because they dont even know they have that pack. Its pretty clearly spelled out on the M3 build page what each of those packages is. 10 stage traction does seem cool they can have my 900 dollars haha. Not much interest in the drift rater though i would definitely be the guy that crashes going for the 5 stars Looks like my quest to get an AWD G80 for an under 80k msrp gets a little tougher I might skip the executive pack because the only thing i really want is the HUD.

It's an 80K dollar car, a 900 option for two apps to get adjustable traction control, in my opinion is nickel and diming. It's standard on the c63s. To each their own. I doubt development what's that dramatic, it's just tuning PID settings, which any 3rd year engineer can do with Matlab .

So if I I don’t have the 10 stage traction option, and I turn off dsc is it fully off? Like it would be at 0 on the 1-10 scale or is there like a set medium

0. MDM is similar, but a little different then mid range on the 10-stage

Yes.
For clarity (I hope !!)
DSC and MDM provide yaw and yaw rate management (the latter allowing significantly more of both) as well as ‘embedded’ traction control to aid straight line traction as well as a ‘tool’ to limit yaw and yaw rate.
DSC has to be off to use/set the TC variable level.
