Weird CarPlay behavior with iDrive 8

I just picked my 2024 M3Cx last week and I’ve had some weird intermittent issues. I don’t know if these are preexisting issues or if it is something related the the last iOS17 beta I am running. The issue that I’m seeing the most is when I long press steering wheel mounted microphone button to bring up Siri it seems to crash CarPlay. It quickly reboots itself but I never get Siri to cooperate with me. Sometimes the crash happens I have a text message come through just as Siri attempts to read the text to me, CarPlay crashes.

So far I’ve tried restarting my iPhone and I’ve tried unpairing/deleting my phone from the car. Neither provided any benefit.

Sounds like iOS 17 weirdness, the RC is out (and actually full iOS 17 has just been released) so you may want to check that.

No issues here on my iD8 '24 G83 w/ 14 Pro Max on iOS 17

^^ This. Had some issues with beta but I moved to RC today and all good with my iPhone 14 Pro Max

Been running iOS 17 beta since beta 2, haven’t encountered this issue. iPhone 14 Pro 1TB.

As noted the GM is out now so worth being sure you are up to date.

Just to follow up, I was already running the GM of iOS 17. I ended up doing an iDrive reboot and that seems to have fixed the issue.
