Diy equal length exhaust?

I've been brainstorming a diy equal 'length" exhaust, but rather than going by length I'd use volume. I would calculate the volume of the downpipes, the crossover pipe and the piping until the first resonator since they have different bends with water. If the left side of the piping holds say 5.5kg of water and the right side holds 5kg of water then to get them equal you need to add 0.5kg of volume to the right piping by using a 75mm pipe for certain amount of length. The secondary cats would be removed so that's where the larger piping would go.
Any exhaust flow experts here? Bonkers idea?
