I used the memory setting to save last position of valve before engine shutdown. Works really well, if I park somewhere that I know cold start is going to be disturbing ( non stock mid pipe) i.e. I know I will leave in the early hours of the night I will hit close on the remote before engine shutdown. The car starts in default valve position and the valves behave as not having a valve controller. Otherwise I always leave it open, and car starts with valves open.

For those guys with 23s that don’t have a lighter plug back there, it allows you to tap into a location where it only gets power once the ignition is on, preventing you from drawing out your battery and a clean solution. Not necessary for models under 23.

Just got my dahler unit in yesterday. I have ceramic tint all around except the front windshield. I have no problems with interference. The remote works as it should both inside and outside the car, along with the home link.

Also, where did you place the module itself? |

Options and a better way
[QUOTE=Geektechlive;29574833]nMy issue is that from inside the car the remote and even the homelink mirror button i programmed doesn't seem to always trip the controller to open or close.
If it helps attached are two photos, The opened Dahler Control box shows the location of the antenna that is circled and is a black coil of wire. (This should not be cut or lengthed as usually is tuned for the signal) Can rotate the box or position box so this area is not wedged surrounded by metal, dependant on the position. This might help. I installed internally as per the other photo, next to the battery area. Can see the yellow string-line that I used compressed air to push down through the chassis. Then accessed this under the car through the rubber gromets. Using a Leather punch for jean belt holes etc, punched out a hole in the middle nof grommets used. Opening the dahler box and removing the cable, was able to feed through this hole for a clean and good seal, never cut the edge of gromit as told in instructions and breaks the seal, also no protection from the metal sides, really not good. ( on the BMW X5 instructions other models maybe better ) Then run the cables back to the box. through a second grommets. Connect back up and the best way. Connections are super easy with press connection terminals, no solder no tools, can you a pen to remove and reconnection if you want. With the covers open on the box, and PCB area still closed gives perfect fixing holes if needed. |

Hey guys - I couldn’t find another thread to post this so figured I’d try here. I have the Dahler valve controller for my G82 and I realized today that only one valve is fully opening and closing when using the remote. I made sure both connections were solid but unfortunately seeing the same result.
Anybody else have this issue? I assume this is a warranty claim to Dahler. |

I looked to briefly before but got the car up on the lift and realized the cables were disconnected from the module. No idea how this happened as there was no tension on the cables from the install. Still waiting to hear back from Dahler. I also reached out to Kies who I purchased it from in December hoping they can help too. Crazy!
