With the Dahler valve controller installed and ASD not disabled or coded off and the controller set to closed, does the oem control of the valves then take place when using the asd button and depending on engine mode etc.? Basically are the valves operating in the same manner as if the dahler wasn't installed when you don't have the controller set to fully open?

Correct think of Dahler settings as Stock or Fully Open.
It also has additional “memory” settings where it can keep what lever setting u were in when u restart the car.

Yes u can pair with home link buttons for both actions. For example button 2 on home link to Open and then button 3 to return to stock

Will car start always valve open? Or should I turn it on every single time? Thanks.

You have three options:
1) start always in stock
2) start always fully open
3) start from memory the last position you shut off car
