German made engines in 2024s ?

For those that are getting their cars for MY2024, are the engines still built in Germany?

Just curious if the LCI will get the “newer” engines and 24’s will continue getting the German made ones through EOP.

Or if there’s another arbitrary date that engine production will switch.

That sounds great, but is that confirmed? As of November, BMW genus told me they could confirm my G82 world be manufactured at the Dingolfing plant, but couldn’t confirm where engine would be produced.

Thanks for pointing out that info is on the window sticker. Likewise I can confirm that my 2024 has both engine and transmission made in Germany.

They only stopped making these engines in Germany last month. So I would expect most new deliveries to have engines made in Austria and the UK.

I didn’t even know this info was printed on the window sticker, like explicitely letting you know where trans and engine are from. I get my vehicle next week so can’t actually confirm the change myself.

Is there not a BMW link that you can review your Window Sticker before you get the car?

I know Ford do it. I was able to check my Window Sticker while my truck was enroute to the dealer.

How long was your wait after you received allocation?
Just curious how long these are taking to complete production.

I received allocation in november, and took delivery yesterday. Pretty quick turn around, 2-3months post allocation is an accurate wait time. The big thing is allocation.

For people getting February deliveries, are engine + tranny still build in Germany?

I was in Build week two on a G82; looks like both car and engine were still built in Germany.

Out of curiosity, is this switch to non-German engine production something that has been announced or speculation?

Engine being made in America is a good thing or bad thing ? Instead of Germany.

Not a good thing, but I doubt M anything is going to be made outside of Germany.
