So I’m hoping you guys can help me out here. I’m looking at a 2022 G80 that’s currently at a non-BMW dealership that was traded in. It’s a really good deal for the spec so I’ve been wondering if there’s something wrong with it… all the pics and videos the dealer has sent have made it look spotless with no issues. But they uploaded pics last night online showing angles that weren’t sent to me, and you can see this piece hanging from under the front bumper. What exactly is going on here, and is this the reason it’s listed at such a good price?

Could be as simple as adding some push pins to that flap or the bottom of the oil cooler being damaged, definitely needs to go on a hoist for inspection.

It could just be this rubber flap from the oil cooler that fell off on one side. It’s not held in by anything, you would just have to push it back into place. But definitely see if they can send pictures of that area just to confirm, or get it on a lift.

Thank you both, will be sure to have it checked out. Another question - a Carfax report would show the break in service, correct?

It should. Some dealers don't always report to Carfax but the vast majority do. If it doesn't show on your Carfax you should be able to see who the original selling dealer was and try giving their service dept a call and provide the VIN and ask. Could get told to pound sand, but it's worth a shot.

Probably not loose. Someone probably pulled into a spot too far and broke the pins.

I did that, ordered the new part and never installed it. It doesn't even ship with the rubber part.

Mine got knocked out of place by a very malicious speed bump or horrendous piece of road repair, hard to tell. Thank you Delaware. It scraped that metal bracket you can see on the upper right too.

Did you ever put the part back on? And if you're using a skid plate, do you put the rubber air dam on?

My shop just installed the Mishimoto skid plate, but they removed that front plastic piece with along with the OEM skid plate and placed the Mishimoto skid plate over it. They also tossed the rubber air dam. Did you track your car without these parts? Do you think the front plastic piece holds the oil cooler in place with the plastic clips? I doubt it, but just wanted to check with you guys.
