Thermal checking/cracking on rotors

Anyone else getting similar cracking after significant track usage?

These are getting replaced before back on track.

Yes, had that happen repeatedly on my F80 OEM rotors. I switched to Giros and I'm getting a little more life out of the rotors on track - hopefully they come out with a G8x rotor soon.

I'm going to be a little more diligent about cool downs on my new rotors and see if I can get more life out of them.

Yeah I did a few sessions of fast driving and got everything really hot. Probably need to keep the fast laps to 2-3 then cool down for 2 laps

Those look like the fronts. Just to double check, are you removing the brake duct covers?

Ive inquired with Brembo on getting a blank option out, since they are making the OEM disc

Just an update, heard back from EBC, they're developing and will have G80 slotted rotors in the next 2 months or so.

Giro, Brembo and R1 all confirmed no timeline

Remove the heatshields from the front and rear rotors, it'll help a bit

absolutely. So nice of BMW to give us bumper vents from the factory!

With Ti shims and Giro rotors, plus maybe those cooling pipes, you will be cooking with fire!
