These are a the factory winter set up for this model. I agree they could have done a little better with the design.

Some of the all black wheel variants are just too dark and monotone to see any details on. Perhaps they are better in person, but they never seem to add anything to the looks of the car in these pics.

Agree. No matter what size and design those wheels have, with black wheels it just looks like a black hole in the wheel arches. You lose the visible stance of the car. I just can't understand the current fascination with black rims. Okay, it may look "meaner" for some, but it actually makes any car look uglier to me, no matter what color it is (it's most acceptable with black exterior paint, because at least then it doesn't look like a hole in the wheel arches since everything is black).

Black hole was the exact phrase I had in my mind. It's just a big dark void where the wheels are supposed to be. Maybe it looks better in person.

Easy winter maintenance with all gloss black wheels. Not trying to look good in crappy weather just want to get where I'm going safely

Makes you appreciate the summer setup that much more when it warms up.

+1 I HATE the all black wheels, regardless of what car they're on. They make the car look cheap.

And that's why we have options. The black 826 were the only wheel I considered from the get go.

Actually that's not quite the case unfortunately. There are no full silver wheel options. They offer more wheel options for the M3/4 than ever, but not a single one is silver. You can have either black, gunmetal or bi-color (with black inner part of the wheel). Pretty frustrating for everybody who doesn't like dark wheels and prefers the OEM look.
