No limiter removed. Consider the 1st 1000 miles as “potty train” for the M heart. At break in, they change the original engine oil that designed specifically for smoothing the new engine parts to the regular engine oil. You shoudn’t go hard on the engine with original engine oil because it has a lot of small particles, which would damage the engine if you go hard on it during the potty train period. Enjoy the M.

If your car received a software update while in service at the dealership, it was pure co-incidence. Yes, updating the software at the dealership can take a few hours.
When I had my break in service done, the service advisor 100% told me that the longest part of the service would be the software update. Because I asked if I could just wait since otherwise it's just a simple oil change, engine and diff.

He didn't claim more power but specifically said "your software will be updated as part of the break in service". So...not a coincidence.

Now, whether that actually happened....who knows. But it's not like we're out here making this up.

LOl. It’s easy to check what software version you had before bringing it and what is installed now. If it was updated, it just means a newer version than what was on your car is available.

You’ll get notifications in your car when a new version is available. That won’t remove limiters or increase power too.

Most misinformation has some truth to it. In this case, that new software was installed.

I never had any limiters on my 21 or my 23. But someone hit upon a idea, If the car is not fully warmed up it will limit performance (RPM , shift points).

It was like yesterday when I did my break in service. I will never forget the feeling when you realize the second turbo got unlocked.

That can only be said in a sequential dual turbo setup. Lol
