G8X Tow Hooks

Anyone know if the F80 tow hooks are the same thread pitch as the G8X tow hooks? I have a nice set of Rennline hooks from my F80 I want to use.

The IND straps with the slotted covers come up to $500 for front and back. They look nice, but that's a big chunk out of the tire fund for something you hope to never use.

I just didn't bother with the slotted covers, the straps tuck in nicely. Pull the covers off and the straps out.

Yeah the painted slotted covers is for the track guys who hang around Walmart parking lots with too much camber and stretched tires

If you actually get towed at the track, that cover is probably popping straight off

I'm of the same opinion. Too much rice.fpr.me at the end of the day. I'm normally a factory tow hook guy but I got a deal on the fall line straps.

is it just me or does that rear tow hook cover feel like it may get loose after a few dozen times of taking it on and off?

Not by a dozen, just the first time taking it out I already felt I was gonna lose it at some points. A simple trick to use fishing line as a second support to secure the cap to the car frame (make sure you have extra length). The factory plastic "chord" on the cap is extremely fragile and could break anytime.

And while you're doing that, the same for front cap (though the front is harder to drop out, but it also has the same fragile plastic connection)

I remove them completely when on track of course but yeah adding a second support is a good idea. Front is the same setup they've had for a while but the rear one seems less safe.
