Well then I have no choice but to agree with your statement!
If the C63 AMG were still a V8 that would drive a comparable proposition. Alas, it is now a complex 4 cylinder hybrid 😆

Right now, actually, I'm thinking about just getting out of the game for a while. This car has itched the scratch that I had to own and drive a performance car, again. I got rid of my C7 manual, and I immediately wanted something else to satisfy my thirst for speed.

This time, I think, its just going to be a Model Y or a Model S. I want a Plaid, but, I would kill myself without the carbon ceramics. Whatever it is, I'm going to plug it in, at home, since, right now, until I change jobs and relocate, I'm 122mi round trip from work, at a monthly cost of about $600+ for fuel.

Whatever the next car is, its just going to bridge the gap until my next G80/82 (or 911).

Makes sense if you want an EV. The Model Y is, I believe, the single best selling EV in the country right now. Although EV’s aren’t my thing, if you know you will rarely charge at a public charging station, you might want to consider a iX. Due to oversupply, dealers are throwing great deals at these right now assuming the 20-30k premium over the Model Y is acceptable to you.

I've never even considered the iX. I will take a look, though. For the simple fact of gathering information. The Teslas appeal because in case you do want to go somewhere, the charging station network is unbeatable. Although, other companies are starting to come in line.

Plus, I think the idea is, to use it as a commuter. Ill put 100k on it in 3-4 years, anyway. Something I can just get my moneys worth, and throw away.

But, I will definitely check out the iX. I hadn't looked at it, as I was more interested in the XM, but, I have to remember this is primarily just going to be something to pile miles on.

The Tesla supercharger network is probably the single most compelling reason to buy a Tesla. My local dealer is advertising deep discounts on their iX inventory which makes me wonder if that car might be compelling enough to consider over the Model Y.

Not going to be a garage queen unless there's snow or a lot of salt on the road. I have a lifted Tundra for those kinds of conditions.

Otherwise, I work remote, so it won't get a ton of mileage but I won't be afraid to drive it whenever. That's why I bought it!

I drove a i4 m50 on Sunday after C and C, it was not bad at all. Actually it was downright quick. May be worth checking those out as well.

My cars filthy right now but I clean her every week. I swap wheels and tires in the winter and drive her all year round since it’s my only car… RWD. What fun is a car if you can’t drive it in all aspects…. Right

Only a few weeks into owning the m3, but I drive it daily if the weather is nice. It’s less fun in poor weather, so I keep it clean in those cases. It’s also not the most comfortable of cars out there, so if I’m not in the mood for that kind of fun, I leave it parked.

With that said, I look for opps to drive it! Cool car for sure.

If you fit in it. They are a little tight if you're tall.

I bought mine with the intent of it being my daily driver, but it was the first brand new vehicle I bought in my life so I found myself obsessing over it. I ended up selling my '07 328xi coupe and replacing it with a '23 Mazda CX-50 to have at least one "practical" vehicle in the stable.

Therefore, the G82 only gets taken out on nice days. I take it to work every day there isn't nasty weather in our southern forecast. I did get stuck with a flat on a 400 mile road trip to Virginia which is another reason I picked up the CX-50 (actually has a spare tire) and is therefore the "beater" for the home depot runs, rainy days and road trips. The G82 has logged just over 6k miles in 1.5 years.

Ah, I keep forgetting about this car. I definitely need to check one of these out. I think they pretty much keep up with the G80.

Apologies for it not being an G8x but I have the same predicament with myself every car I get.

I’ll see a car, always an M car, I end up buying it. I’m going to use this one I really am. My wife always gives that look that’s supportive but she also knows I’m wrong.

Then after a few weeks, the trips out get less, the detailing gets more intensive, inner wheel arches, darkest depths of the engine bay, bits of the interior nobody will ever see.

Then it’s so clean that I don’t even want to take it out in the dry as I’ll have to clean it all over again.
It’s an illness, but I get a strange buzz from it, even though it takes away enjoyment in terms of driving. The fact my car is as good as I can genuinely get it, means I’m happy.

2020 M4, sitting in the garage on 5999 miles, and I don’t want it to turn 6k

Beautiful car and great detailing. It is a rabbit hole for sure. Some people get so obsessed with condition that they forget the car is actually fun to drive. There's no two ways about it, your car will get dirtier when you drive it compared to when you just leave it in the garage. But some people actually enjoy looking at their clean cars more than they enjoy driving them, which is the purest definition of keeping a garage queen. It seems a bit strange to buy a performance car for that purpose, but "car enthusiasts" come in all flavors.

Agree. I do enjoy getting it out and when I do, I drive it fairly hard, but never abuse it, and I’m always conscious of chips and stuff.

As you say, no matter what your into, we are all car enthusiasts at the end of the day. strangely I’m probably worse with a car that is no longer in production, if they are still being made for years to come, there’s not much point making it a garage Queen, until near the end of its life. As after that point, there will never be any more new ones.

One more, just because
