Yet another strange noise

Since we are good at investigating and identifying weird noises of this car, here's another one:
When unlocking the car, a squeak is heard from the engine compartment. Kind of like something is turning and lets out a faint squeak.
The sound is definitely inside the engine bay, on the passenger side.
It only happens once after a has been sitting overnight, i.e. for a longer time. It doesn't happen afterwards, during the day.

It's not as alarming as it is weird and would be interesting to know what can make a squeaky noise in the engine bay..some sort of a flap opening up when car is unlocked?

I assume the electronics will be priming for a start eg fuel pump - so maybe no belts.

These cars (BMWs) do this all the time - it's a computer waking up. My wife's car makes so much noise you'd think someone is killing a squirrel in there. Different cars in my past make different distinct and unique sounds.

It’s likely the mouse that has made your engine compartment it’s home.

He’s just letting you know that he’s headed out for the day.

Morning Ralph.
Mornin Sam.
