Trunk lid liner fastener or closing alignment stops?
Below is a picture of a trunk lid liner fastener or a trunk lid closure alignment adjuster.
I don’t know what exactly it is or what it does. There are two, one on each side. They were unscrewed so far out of my trunk lid liner they looked ridiculous! I screwed them in. The trunk lid closes the same as before and seems to be aligned correctly. It almost seems like those things are there just to hold the liner up, but I don’t know. Maybe they are used to adjust trunk lid closure alignment. I don’t know. There are a lot of owners here that have far more knowledge than I do about these cars. What is their purpose? Thank you! https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/at...1&d=1708915644 |

I could be wrong but those are usually the bump stops that are supposed to make contact with the other side of the trunk opening. Normally they’re adjusted to help alignment and maybe to stop rattles that can happen if they’re screwed in too far
