I still "want" to, but, the $65-$70k offered for my car, is a joke. I still check Plaid inventory, everyday. Tesla has one of the highest trade in, but, its still a big margin.

In the meantime, I still need to fix my front bumper issue, or just take everything off.

Should be available this summer
Now that we are in summer, do you guys have any news on this? Definitely could be very interesting, especially for those already running the CSF heat exchanger and transmission oil cooler

True, the Tesla website showed a similar price range for my car so I went in person to see if their actual offer would be on the higher end, but they ended up offering me $70k lol

As for the bumper, this is what the bottom of mine looks like with the Mishimoto plate. There’s still some warp from the Turner plate, but it’s much flatter than before.

Of course the offer would be on the lower end. These cars are just shit for resale. I owned my Type R for 2 years, put 9,900 miles on it, and made $7,000. Over $100k MSRP G8X worth $70k.

Man, this Turner skid plate turns these bumpers into hammered dog shit. May need to take a heat gun to get it back straight.

But not everyone needs that much cooling. Sometimes I wish it should warm up quicker.
BMW engineers also stuck an oil cooler at a place in the car which is extremely prone to debris strikes; so much so that there's at least 3 guards to prevent damaging the oil cooler. Which, oh, BTW, could potentially toast your engine due to catastrophic loss of oil.

But oh yeah, these engineers have thought of everything.

It's not unheard of. Search the F80 forums...there are some examples.

And I'd laugh at your example...except I've been there. Left lane on the highway in Houston (no shoulder there, literally the line and then a jersey barrier, the shoulder is on the right), driving in my old Tesla. Hit some kind of massive metallic or solid wood object in the dark while in traffic. Saw it not a split second after it appeared out from under the pickup in front of me. BAM! Toasted the battery and totaled the car. Had I been in an F8X or G8X with that oil cooler, for sure it would have taken it out. And as for shutting it off before pulling over, this happened on a 4 lane highway plus the entrance ramp I was next to. It was 45-60 seconds before I was able to get to the shoulder safely (hazards on, rear tire instantly flat BTW). So yeah, good chance it would have run long enough to go kaboom. Because I wasn't about to stop in the flow of traffic, no matter what the consequence to the car.

Is it me or is the mishimoto plate the lowest part of the car now? Normally it's those shiny things under the air inlets that is the lowest part, now it seems it's the skid plate.

On a stock car, the rubber piece attached to the oil cooler is the lowest part if I’m not mistaken. This Mishimoto plate does hang a bit lower than that though.

Man - that little rubber strip/air damn looking piece. How long did that piece last you everyone's car? It's in my trunk.

I ordered the mishimoto plate last week and was told it's BO for 8 - 12 weeks.

Sigh...

Usually full bolt on. CS needed a tiny bit of trimming for clearance on the rear of the lip.

Hello Tom, could you post a picture of where the trimming is necessary or mark in red from the install picture you provided.

It would be very much appreciated!

Thank you sir!

Just a very mild amount of trimming needed where the lip meets the cooler, it's self explanatory once the guard is fitted into position.
