It's an incredible color. One of the best blues out there bar none. It also makes it easy not to have to order Paint-to-Sample since this blue is as good or better than Mexico, Voodoo, Riviera, etc.

Is the brake dust on the 992 about the same as the G80? Thinking you don't have PCCB on the 992.

Porsche brakes don't have the brake dust as bad as the BMWs do.

Thanks, I was thinking it would be hard to be worse. Was over on Rennlist and I can't decide who complains more about the brake dust people on this forum or that one. Currently on a waitlist list for a 992 CT.

I've found both my 718 GT4s (previous and current) as well my previous 911s don't get the same amount of dust.
You'll love the Carrera T. I had a 991.2 T and thought about the current one as well but just got a second 718 GT4 and really find the GT experience to be ideal.

Off Topic but it is my thread:

I did the IS1500 pad swap on my M8 and here are my test results...

Post from the M8 Forum

Quote:
So recently I saw Ben and added the I Sweep 1500 pads on all four corners. Ben has a Black Friday sale going on now and the pads are free and he will pay you to watch him install.

So I wanted to see the efficiency of the pads in all regards. So far the bite is very similar to OEM; maybe just a minute more pedal travel but I really dont notice it at all. Under heavy heavy load it still stops and I have not and will not track the car so I think its a great replacement from a functional standpoint.

But lets stop the bullshit, I only got them because of the dreaded BMW brake dust and now with my BBS wheels it was more imperative that I get the dust reduced. I did a test where I placed a piece of masking tape and then drove the car only on the streets (much more braking) for about 103 miles give or take a few tenths and this is what I have now:

Before (clean car and washed reasonably well)

After the 103 miles and of course no wash. Remember this was over 100 miles of street, not expressway, driving and you can see optically with my camera's zoom that there are some particles but in reality its pretty outstanding.

I have not had the same experience. 2 Macan S', Macan GTS, 991.1S (PCCB so no brake dust at all), 991.14S, 991.2S, 991.2T, 718 GTS, 718 GT4, 718 GT4 (2) (and I think I missed a couple more my wife or I have owned).
My G80 M3 and M5 Comp always seems to be dirtier quicker and more easily.

I’ll be receiving my G80 M3 on Monday but for what it’s worth my 991.2 GTS was pretty heavy on brake dust. You can obviously reduce this with alternate pads but you will almost certain sacrifice bite.

I put my 1200 break-in miles on in ~2.5 weeks...and that was because I waited a couple days and got PPF and paint correction done.

It will likely take me months to hit 1200 miles on this car.

Hey Vic55 love your cars! (911 and GTS)

I have been on the wait list for a S cab 18 months now. The manager of my dealership called me today and offered me a GTS 4 cab allocation at sticker price. I took it of course as these cars are nearly impossible to come by. What options do you feel are a must and would you stay with the same spec if you were to do it all over again.

Only things I have committed to in my mind (and on paper) are Ruby star color and 3 peddles.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Congrats, the Porsche addendum for options is practically endless and highly subjective.

I think you definitely need RAS (rear axle steering) and the Premium Package... the rest is fairly bespoke but you could add PDCC (I have this too) which really keeps the car planted to an amazing level but its not necessary. I love my 18 way seats but some swear by the 14 or even the 4 way. Its really so hard to gauge what one wants vs our own personal desires.

From an aesthetic sense, I love the sport design side skirts which eliminate the black lower sides along with the carbon fiber roof. And since you are getting the GTS you might as well get the GTS interior package which is specific to the model (you can just get normal leather for less).

I have the Centerlock wheels in matte but you can get the 5 lug Spyder wheels which look great too.

Tons of choices!!

I just got an offer on my car which is rather lucrative... my only option would be to upgrade to a GT3.

Thoughts on the Winged vs Touring? I have a connect to either one but the Touring is 10k more and agate gray while the winged is white.

IDK I might just keep this bitch since its tuned, lowered, and exhaust modded but.... gt3 is
