Coating wheels fkin blows!

Just coated my wheels with gtechniq c5. The coating itself went rather smooth. Broke up the wheel into 3 sections and 1 bottle was just enough to do all 4 and the calipers.

The hard part was cleaning the wheels beforehand. That took me about 4 hours to get them spotless. The coating themselves took me about 90 min.

I also installed future classic 18/15 spacers.

Sure hope it works as well as others say!

Yeah I applied to my 829M winters and had the advantage of them being brand new and off the car. I cleaned with alcohol and took my time over several days to get them finished.

There's a reason my detailer charges $600 for wheel ceramic coating. But that also includes polishing the wheels, and an IR heat lamp bake for the coating.

A lot of shops airbrush it on, with a modelers airbrush kit. 10x easier. HF sells them for like $20.

Pretty dope technique! I can definitely understand the value of some of the pricing I’ve seen now. 1500 to do the body and glass is seeming like a great deal. single stage polish included in that price. 3 guys in my garage and they’re done in 8-10 hours.

I would say that’s a good price.

I got the carbon ceramics on my M3CX but still coated my wheels and calipers with 2 layers of Dlux and a gloss layer with Gliss. Wheel off treatment took me several days to prep and coat just as you experienced and was a slow go with all the angles on the 963Ms. But, totally worth the effort and really connects you to the care process of your car. Now, nothing sticks to those wheels!

Yes these wheels suck and the amount of brake dust they generate. Takes me as long to wash car as it does the wheels alone, but they look good.

I have to stay on top of cleaning every 2-3 weeks so the break dust doesn't stay on too long and need an Iron remover.

If I change brake pads will this void any BMW warranty or maintenance plan, I know maintenance plan includes Brakes.
