What color does it come in. I thought it was already gloss black.

It’s satin black. It blends well with the gloss black but if you’re looking for a perfect match, you need to paint or PPF it.

I had this lip on my F82 and it’s quality. I had my whole car wrapped in PPF but I didn’t have the lip in time. I’m debating if I want to paint it, wrap it, or just go as is.

Thanks! So my buddy is the GM of a body shop and offered to do it on-the-house which is part of the reason why I decided to go through with it haha... If I had to guess, I'd say a body shop would charge anywhere from $200-$400.

Thanks man. The lip looks great on your car. I think I’m gonna get mine painted before I put it on. Thanks for sharing!

Looks awesome considering the same one. Want to go all gloss black with my build.

What was the issue with the current install instructions from Lightweight?

The lightweight lip looks fantastic, although I feel it's overpriced for what it is. Appreciate the pictures!

So they supply with the lip new metal clips that they say are to replace the plastic clips in the plastic covers underneath the car (if you watch the install video on youtube you'll see what I mean). Well I did that but the screws they supplied wouldn't thread into those clips as the holes in the new clips were too large. I contacted EAS and they said we are to use the existing plastic clips and sure enough the screws fit properly in those. So while their instructions tell you to remove all those plastic covers underneath the car to swap clips, you really only have to remove the current bolts in the locations where the lip will go and that's it... no need to remove any covers at all. There are a lot of bolts holding the covers on so it was a bit time consuming to do that; especially since I did the install in the garage with the car on the ground.

I also didn't have the rubber skirting they say needs to be cut off the one cover... I wonder if I don't have it because mine is a manual? Or if the 22s are different from the 21s? Not sure but that is another step that wasn't necessary for me.

True, I feel it is a tad overpriced, too, but the quality and fitment were outstanding. Plus, no need for 3M tape, or self-tapping screws, new holes in the bumper etc.

Good feedback on this, thanks! Someone recently had the same issue with the metal clips and they bought new screws to install the lip with the new metal clips. Good to know you can skip steps by not removing all of the plastic covers and just reuse plastic clips.

Very good point. That's appealing in and of itself.

Installed my gloss black eBay lip today. Super easy install, but needed a couple of longer screws than what was included with the lip.

It’s not a perfect fit, but it will do for the price. I figure it’s a disposable item anyway and at least I won’t scratch the front bumper.

What do you use for the longer screws?
Seems like I'm gonna need them too

Tkx!

I used standard #10 1” screws. I ordered them from Amazon, because I was too lazy to go to Home Depot or Lowes.

Looking to install the Future Design FD Carbon Fiber Front Lip V1 for my G82. Has anyone here installed one before? I’m trying to avoid drilling into my front bumper if possible and was hoping it utilized existing clips.
