Ast bmw g87/g80/g82 adjustable lowering springs

https://x-ph.com/ast-bmw-g87-m2-g80-...howHidden=true

Hello, it looks like this is a relatively new product release in 6/2023. I had KW HAS on my G80 and am looking to adjustable lowering springs for G82 that will be here soon.

I was wondering if anyone had experience with these, and if they are comparable to KW. Thank you

AST is very similar to the KWs, but with a bit wider lowering range if you're looking to get really low or just want the option of. The KWs are about $200 more than the ASTs, but both are really good quality kits - We stock and install both setups regularly.

AST lowering Range
Front Lowering Range: 0.75-1.80"
Rear Lowering Range: 0.39"-1.40"

KW Lowering Range
Front Lowering Range: 0.40" to 1.20"
Rear Lowering Range: 0.20" to 0.80"

Hope this helps.

Just to make sure I am understanding, the least amount of drop you can do on AST is 2x lower than the least amount of drop you can do on KW?

Correct. Front has the most noticeable gap in stock form. Most people looking to lower their cars are going 0.75 or more in front, and even things up in the rear - especially on G80, where it does not need as much drop as the G82.

How is the ride on the AST's? Also, since they do lower more, how do the stock shocks handle this? I know they have new bump stops, but I assume handling is going to suffer over looks... and ride quality/longevity of the shocks? thanks

Ride is very similar to OEM on the AST setup. Maybe a bit sportier.

We typically don't bottom out the settings to prevent these types of issues, just enough to close the gap and present a nice, sporty drop - typically a 1-2 finger fender gap.

Not everyone wants their car slammed to the ground. The adjustability on the spring perches allows the luxury of fine tuning for a majority of different circumstances, such as steep driveways, making clearance for aggressive front lips or steep parking garages, preventing changing suspension down the road when tastes change (like new wheel/tire setups).

Currently have these on my M4

Couple of highlights are they ride really good and a tad bit stiffer but in a good way. It’s like having a sport plus plus mode. Sport rides like sport plus and comfort now rides like sport. Now full transparency my M4 only has 1300 miles.

I also like the adjustable tool better then the kw and the best part is the AST’s have a ruber flat ring on top of the rear perch to prevent spinning when adjusting the rear. So you can adjust the rear without having to disassemble the rear suspension all over again.

Has anyone had noise issues from the rear springs binding? Currently battling this on a 2024 M3 xDrive.

Did you have to modify your wheel wells at this height to prevent rubbing? Looks awesome - would like to do these on mine.

Do these lower the front more the MSS HAS v2 version? Even with max low I still have a gap in my front g80. Trying to figure if these will solve the problem.

Do you know how much you lowered the front and rear? Also what are you running for spacers?
