Eibach springs install

So orginally I wanted to purchase just the Eibach front springs only for my G80 and it was hard to find just the front springs only since it was sold out everywhere. So I ended up ordering the whole Eibach springs kit. I am going to install them this weekend, but I am debating on just doing the fronts only, or should I just go ahead and do the rears as well. I did think about seeing how just the fronts alone would be, but since I’ll already be working on the car might as well knock out the rears as well. I’m thinking that putting the whole kit together would even out the spring rates and offer a better ride.

What’s everyone’s thoughts? Fronts only? Or just knock out the whole set (Front and Rear)?

I would just do the whole thing. The rears appear to be much easier to install than the fronts.

I did the whole thing and was advised by my mechanic to do so to make sure the spring rates were the same. To be honest, it looks oem in the rear and I am not skilled enough to know the difference. I used the bump stops from another set of lowering springs to be sure my front springs had enough travel from lowering.

I mean eibach sells them as a front only install also, so would they have not tested this before hand? Everyone is saying to keep everything the same, but why would eibach sell a kit as front springs only. I am just giving an input from opposite side of the isle as many, many people only do front and are completely fine. If you plan on tracking the car and getting very serious, then i would imagine you would want something a little more robust instead of simple spring swaps.

Edit: I also bought the full kit for the same reason as you, and the springs for front are exactly the same either or. I will be installing front only saturday. And if need be in the near future will add rears depending on how I feel after front install.

Yeah and that’s kinda the same thought process I have as well, if they sold them as fronts only the R&D was developed that way. I’m leaning towards going with fronts only… we will see how bored I get and how much time I have lol.

In my opinion (and not based on any extensive research I did on this subject), Eibach offers front springs because there is a big market for the front; it's a financially intelligent decision from the manufacturer.

But price aside, doing the full kit will yield better results in terms of reliability and handling.
